Hi Taffers, :sweat:

OK, so I have visted Chez Serge and L'Arsene's apartment, have my stuff back, and can't open the gate next to the hotel leading the abandoned section. Picking and my selection of keys are no bueno. I read some of the spoilers but can't seem to figure how to open the gate. Have not yet met the Admiral...
Also, I can see the Thief by the fireplace throught the half open window while standing on the 2nd floor ledge but can't get it. Is there another entrance?

Suggestions anyone? Hope its not obvious....

Having a Thief rivalry is a pretty cool idea. Clearly there is professional pride involved. I wonder if that could be incorporated into the Thief 4 (assuming it isn't in Deadly Shadows, since I have been occupied with these great FMs), sort of like that movie WWII Sniper Movie, Enemy at the Gates.

I've been searching and reading lots of spoilers. I've been to most of the areas on the map including sort of an abandoned area, but I only have one objective checked off and that is to plunder the town for 2500.

If somebody wants, please answer the following and give me an idea in which order I might find this, but I'm not that picky. I'd be very happy just to know where this stuff is.

[SPOILER]L'arsene's loot is in the south east corner of the map. There is a door on the ground. Where is the key to this door?[/SPOILER]

[SPOILER]Where is L'Arsene? I read in that letter that he's going to be at a safe at 3 am? I'm near a safe with an X marked on the wall. Is that the one? Does time pass in this game or can I set a clock somewhere for 3am? Do I have to have somebody with me to trigger L'arsene? Who?[/SPOILER]

[SPOILER]Who do I have to bring where? Is it DeCharry's nephew I'm supposed to bring with me to the safe? Where is he?[/SPOILER]

[SPOILER]I never really found a hole in the wall behind some bushes at the Chez Serge. It looked to me more like a tall tunnel next to a tree. "Hole" suggests tiny and the tunnel I found to the abandoned city was pretty big. Have I missed something?[/SPOILER]

1. The key was stolen by Le Pouilleaux and he's hidden it in his tower. It's in another section of town, the one you enter after going through the Security building. After you go out onto the metal walkway behind it, climb down the ladder and turn right. Walk through a wooden tunnel into a shed. There's a ladder in the back corner that is hard to see. Climb it, follow the pathway to the end and you'll be facing the tower. You'll probably need a box to climb in. I did, anyway.

2. I think you've misunderstood something here. There's lots to do before you ever get to L'Arsene, including getting into the abandonned district, which is where you find the key to unlock the rooms that he's found in. It doesn't sound like you've gotten to that point yet.

3. You don't need to bring anybody anywhere until you've found L'Arsene, who you need to deposit in a jail cell in the Security building.

4. I don't recall any other doors/gates in floors.

5. I'm not sure what you read that suggested a "hole in the wall" near Chez Serge unless it was a reference to the way in that doesn't involve going through the front door. The entrance to the Abandonned District is through a gate at the end of the street by Chez Serge and it's not hidden in any way. The key to it is lying by the overturned sofa in the room where the murder took place.

No, I've been to the abandoned section and as it turns out....

[SPOILER]L'arsene has been laying in the room next to the safe for quite some time now. I guess I knocked him out and moved him without reading his name. I hope I didn't kill him. I put him in the security cell with the sliding manhole and I shut the gate on him, but that objective hasn't been checked off. I think I've been to Pouloux' tower because I got into the abandoned area.

The issues in your number 4 and 5 were things I'd read about in other spoilers in this thread.[/SPOILER]

Edit: Yay! I got my stuff back and the objective checked off. I still need L'Arsene's treasure.
[SPOILER]I definitely picked up that key next to the couch. I have a blue key in my inventory, but it doesn't open that door on the ground that has L'Arsene's treasure. I can't figure it out.[/SPOILER]

I don't believe it matters which order you do it in.

[SPOILER] You have to put L'Arsene into the jail cell that doesn't have the sewer hatch in it then lock the door to get the objective to tick off. [/SPOILER]

The other cell doors don't open. None of the keys work. The picks don't work. I can't find a switch.
