Sorry if this sounds hopelessly naive, but do you mean
minutes?? Or hours?
I mean hours. 2:30:00. Sorry if I did not make that clear. :) I think it is usual, in the US at least, that the left number means hours, and it is common to omit seconds.

I guess I was just thinking from a speed-run mindset, where people really push to shave off every second, and when they post their time they want to do so to the second ... like 2:29:53. And then from that mindset, I just thought it was a little strange that you would finish at like exactly 2:30:00.00.
Edit: Well, now I read your post again and it's clear that you were just talking about a typical time over the course of a number of runs -- not like an official time or anything, like I first read it. So it makes sense that you'd round it off and leave out even the lowest minute, and show just a kind of shorthand to get things started, and so people have an idea of what a good time-frame is to shoot to for. And that makes a lot more sense. (And this isn't like a contest sized mission, or like the insane lengths people went to with Bafford's runs, where typical runs were separated by <2 seconds after like 20 runs!). So no worries; I just misread what you meant by that number, reading too fast. :)
Anyway, my first run through took me at least 5+ hours over 2 days (lots of just walking around). So 2.5 hours sounds challenging enough!

Another error on my part.:wot: I should have said approximately. I did not keep a list of my times. My last one was actually 2:38:29. I know I have gone faster, but I don't know the exact time. 2:30:00 is neither official nor correct.
You bring up a good point, though. Official times should be reported with seconds.
Now game on, you taffer.;)

This mission is rather impressive. You know it's good when you don't need to use your own imagination. :)
I was so wrapped up in making my next mission that I didn't realize this had been released.

Just to add a bit to what Peter was talking about earlier...if you need a walkthrough you aren't ready to attempt a serious speed run.
I recall doing a banzi/speed run once with one of the early beta versions...IIRC it was well under two hours. I imagine you could win on normal in an hour, maybe a bit less. Too bad it's not T1...you could work some serious kangaroo jumps on this map!:cheeky:
:sly:

I agree with Sly's sentiments on the walkthrough. I also note that times of an hour or so are no doubt possible with banzai mode (anything goes). My approx. 2.5 hours is for perfect ghost. Must be a little more meticulous there. I wasn't trying for a record, but I was trying to go quickly.

I've just started struggling with this 'beast'. The mission is impressive so far... huge... I mean... huge :cheeky:
I bet the frame rate must be 800 or 900 sometimes, no crash so far whatsoever...
Hm, I'm stuck. Where is the key to 1177 (Engineer Paul Harcant chamber)?
smithpd on 28/5/2007 at 21:28
Jericho,
It depends on what skill you are playing.
There is a note in an office in the upper turbines area, that refers to a friend who has Harcant's key. It says the friend is working in some area -- I forget where. I believe that this applies only to Tips skill. In Thief and Timed skill, the key is on a patrolling white-suited worker in the lowest Turbines area.
Nightwalker on 29/5/2007 at 13:00
The key #2200 smithpd referred to opens Harcant's Earth level office. You need to go there before you get into his Administration level office. On Tips, it's found on a worker that patrols through Room 4422 in Physical and Chemical Treatment.

Quite right, Nightwalker.:) I was ahead of myself, and ahead of Jericho. I forgot to mention that you need
the first key before you can get the second.
