I ended up using two arrows and I didn't alert it. I managed to defuse everything in 56 minutes. Now I'm on a loot/book hunt - I still need 245 in loot so I might be missing a diamond and something else.
Any ideas? (I could name several secret bits of loot I've found but there's a lot - I've found all 7 secrets so that might narrow things down!)

How and where do you leave Alan a note!?
I have several pencils, but can't find anywhere to write? Help!

Note for Lord Alan
There is a blank piece of paper on the one of the desks in the executive office area. I think it is outside engineer Harcant's office. You need to "use" a pencil on the paper. Then it will change to a scroll. Then you have to drop the scroll on Lord Alan's desk at the other end of the office area.
Here are my stats:
Time: 1h 37m
Loot: 4950/4950
Secrets: 7/7
Objectives: 10/10
Ghosted: Yes
Damage given/received: 0/0
I feel like playing it again to beat my time :D

Excellent time, Dussander! :) I assume that those 10 objectives are actually "hidden objectives" and that you were playing on Timed skill. Right? Expert or equivalent is needed to take credit for ghosting according to the "official rules". There are 14 objectives on Timed, 10 of which are hidden and reported in the stats. I did about that time doing Perfect Thief in beta testing, but only after lots of experience with the map. Did you stop to smell the roses and read all the readables at some point? If not, you should do that, too. I'd be interested to know what is your best time. Try for 24/24 pockets, too.

It's been a while. I need practice. I made a quick ghost run in 1:47, missing 50 loot and one builder's scroll. :( I'll find those things and try again some other time. :)
EDIT:
My memory was off. My previous best time for Perfect Ghost was about 2:30, as I (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1598344#post1598344) reported previously. 1:47 is my fastest time, even if not perfect. That makes your 1:30 all the more impressive.
EDIT AGAIN:
It took me 20 more minutes to find the one missing loot item and the one missing builder's scroll. Both of the missing items I had snatched before, but I lost them in reloads. One of the hazards of ghosting.:) So that is 2:07, my best time so far for getting everything in Ghost mode.

I only began to play this mission and already found secret with Hand and those eyes... :o
Wonderful mission and industrial atmosphere, big thanks to the author. :thumb:

That was on Timed, with 23/23 pockets picked too (remember T2 adds another on for luck), and official ghost rules.
I did it by some casing before I played for real, for example, I found out where the scientist was before I started playing for real. I also did a loot hunt without saving. I also wrote down just about everything including the locations of all the blue gems, hidden wine, keys, books and secrets. So that I would work out my route and go the quickest way around.

Usually, but in this case 24 is real, and there are really 24/24 pockets. The T2 off-by-one error can be (and was) circumvented by the designer.
But that is quibbling. It is still a fantastic time.:)

Sorry if this has been asked before, but the mission crashes just before it starts. I am using Darkloader 4.2, anyone else has had to deal with this?
