War1today,
You've seen the place where you must go, now you must find a way there.
If you already have the key from the pedestal in the chapel (I believe it's called the 'Chapel Key'), then you
need to get back to the chapel, and open the metal door on to your left (facing the pedestal) with the key. That will lead you towards The Truth! If you don't have the key yet, then you need a special gem before you can take it from the pedestal. For the gem you must search the lower basement area.
Wow!!! What a MasterPiece!!!
Am enjoying this tremendously. Almost finished on sneak except for the secret requirement. I`m two short of the requirement but would like to get them all. Which brings up the question about the
door in the top of the bookcase. I haven`t been able to find neither a key nor a triggering mechanism to open it. Is it connected with a secret or can I just use my trusty sword to bash the door open?
Another question: are there any secrets either outside the fortress proper (i.e., in the outside area I started from) or in the sewer system. Knowing the answer to this would help to narrow down my search a bit.

DreamWalker,
There is a hidden switch. Examine the clock in the corner very carefully...
Also, have you found the secret in the lowest basement level?
Thanks mol ... and I thought I had checked that
time piece very carefully. :o As for the the lowest basement no luck yet but I did find another secret which lead down a rope to a tiny grave area. Moreover, in rechecking the the sewer system I found some more nuggets.
So now I'm at 11 secrets & 12200 loot. I could just finish now but I'm only 300 short of the loot max ... and I'm willing to bet that most of it (if not all) will be found when I discover the 4 remaining secrets. :laff:

Mika,
thanks for your help. After posting I went back to church to check it out further and I felt like such an idiot as I forgot to check the door on the left! My problem is that with newborn twins and a three year old I recently play FMs with one eye closed and one open due to lack of sleep. If I were better rested I am sure I would not be asking these [stupid] questions. Nonetheless, thanks for your help! Finished the mission and looking for another!

DreamWalker and War1today, you're very welcome. I'm happy to be able to help for a change, having received so much help from the community in the past.
DreamWalker, as for the
secret in the basement, look for a few crates next to a wall, towards the end of the basement where the ladders are leading on to the watch towers. There's a small door behind them.
War1today:
:laff: I don't have kids myself, but I do have a 9-week old brittany puppy that has a seemingly endless supply of energy :tsktsk: So you have my symphaties ;)
No questions are stupid, ever -- it's so easy to overlook something especially in a mission that's as extensive as this one. If I had a cent every time I missed something obvious.... :laff:

Had already found that one, mol. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that
you were referring to this particular basement area and took your referrence to the lowest basement to mean the lower basement where the mage, cells, etc. are found so I've been going nuts trying to find a secret down there. Fortunately, I took time away after ½ hour of getting no where ... so I'm still sane :p
Meanwhile, I'm still 4 secrets & 300 loot short of the bonus objectives.

I haven't seen it mentioned, but did anyone find the secret door up in the attic? The first time you go in, a ghostly face pops up at you. I found myself halfway across the attic before I stopped running.
Outstanding mission! One of the best I've ever seen!
DreamWalker on 11/4/2003 at 18:25
Yep, was one of the first I found. Thought for sure I was done for.

Regarding secrets...
There is also a secret in a hallway leading to the water tunnels. Very cunningly placed... two statues facing eachother and one of the statues, on her breast, has a switch.
Great mission... lots of places to explore. Just curious if anyone has played Karras Diary and what your thoughts are? It is a long download for me (50+mb with a 56k modem, ugh!) but very tempting!
