Non BJ guards - there were three who had those special helmets on.
One was upstairs in the living quarters, one appeared outside near the side entrance (after I swear I cleared that area) and one was up on the roof with a lantern.
AFAIK that type of guard can not be BJ'd, only gassed or sneaked by (or killed if you like to play that way.)
I wouldn't have liked to try ghosting this one, way too many clicky floors for my tastes. I did at least make the effort to try and pickpocket everyone before I dealt with them so some ghosting was required at times. Also sure I was on the middle difficulty which had the bonus of BJ everyone but get at least 22 or something. You still get all the missions, but some are optional rather than mandatory. (I hate no KO missions (unless it suits the plot or you get your stuff later in the mission), I like to play last-man-standing style)
'dirtyoldman' - Those two are the guards you can only get to once you have got the cube.
Kind of a shame there isn't anything to do outside the castle, made getting out there somewhat disappointing. Even if only a treebeast to chase you about would have done!
One thing I liked about Alan's Basement was the 'this is my first mission' comment and it turned out to be one of the best I have played. Last time someone said the same about their mission it turned out to be a good one too! These modest geniuses!!
Ominous Bequest, Rowena's Curse, The Art of Thievery, The Oracle of the Prophets series, The Seventh Crystal. Er I don't think I've done any of these, are they all in the Fan mission section? (Stilll working my way through the T2 missions in Hammer Score order, I've done all the T1.)
I would add Blade of Crom to a must-do list. One of my favourites.

All Fan Missions can be found at Epithuma's thiefmissions.com site.

I never really got into Crom's Blade, even as I liked the Conan-ties. Old Howard-fan as I am. Should play it again(as I now have more free time), mostly because it felt like the mission could have easíly become one of my favorites.

I'm working my way through the ones on The Circle atm, are there ones on Epithuma's site that aren't on the circle?
There isn't anything particularly Conan-like about Crom's Blade. Well maybe the yetis.

Ah, yes, but it can be ghosted without too much difficulty. I think it is a very good mission for ghosting because there are lots of challenges yet nothing requiring extreme measures. The only really difficult part, for me, was that one vault where you have to run some distance get in before it closes. And yet, the mission cannot be ghosted officially because of the need to break some glass.

I don't remember having to break any glass, maybe I found another way round whatever that was.

Crom? Large ancient-like castle? Old king with a powerful blade? Any of these ring a bell?
