Almost forgot.. there's one door I couldn't open. (In the stairs, just left of the kitchen). Anyone who can help with that one?

Bahahaha I found that area....that's a hilarious way to open a secret door...
Nightwalker on 5/4/2003 at 21:05
It sounds like you may be referring to the Captain of the Guard's room, schma.
If you go all the way up those stairs and down to the end of the hallway, there's a room on the right. The key is on a bookcase in there.
schma on 5/4/2003 at 22:59
Yep... I had missed that key somehow. Thanks again, NW :)
After visiting that room, though, I'm very glad that I did miss it. The Captains ledger is basically a list of spoilers. Not to mention getting two keys "for free".
I would even go so far as to advice people to not visit his room unless they are stuck (or after finishing everything else) :) -- the mission is perfectly doable without going there, and you get to use your imagination and creative brain muscles a lot more.
That's just my opinion, of course ;)

I've finished the mission on expert, with 9 secrets found and about 2000 in loot missing.
This is a truly marvellous FM. The visuals are amazing, just the first scene takes your breath away. As for many other taffers, the first few minutes were pure sightseeing for me. I walked around the fortress compound to admire its architecture, turned around to see the nicely done city behind the fences, then I looked up just to see the flock of birds passing by. Then I had to pick up my jaw from the floor.
As soon as I read the mage's book in the cellar I was hooked on the story. It's got quite some nice surprises in store later on.
No spoilers. Play it!
I loved all those secret doors and corridors. The more I advanced in the mission, the more areas opened to be explored. It really gave me the impression of progress, unlike other missions where you get stuck and feel an invisible wall keeping you from moving on.
The great puzzles were all solvable with a little thinking. Especially the door riddles leading to the Truth were fantastic.
I had already solved half of the rooms before I saw the hints scroll on the floor.
The sound is another highlight, as well. The music (composed and played by the author, I gathered) fits the atmosphere perfectly. Just once the organ music, which is usually heard inside the chapel, triggered while I was still outside the fortress. This made me wonder if I had just done something dramatic by simply walking near a wall ;)
It's been said before and I say it again: This FM is amazing. There's so much packed into one mission, it's almost too much (but only almost ;)). Kudos to Lord Alan, this is one of the best FMs I've ever played!
To quote the author, "THIEF IS ART." Oh yes, it is. And this FM is proof enough.

congrats on a thoroughly great mission, i'm enjoying it very much..!
just have to get the secrets and loot objectives checked, then i'm out the west gate..
this has been said before, but i guess it takes a lot of time, dedication and work for several people to pull off a mission like this.. and you're all by yourself?
:wot:
bigges' res'pec goes out to you..
looking very forward to your future projects..
as i'm sure there will be after a nice vacation..

We have finished it missing 4 secrets and 1000 of total loot
Has anybody a list of all the 15 secrets? (or shall we spoiler the 11 we've found?)
and what's about a loot list? (but that's too much we think):eww:

This is really a marvellous fm.
The birds really amazes me and the barrier near the cells, wow, how did you do that?
I finished on Action and found 11 secrets and am 1000 loot short.
Also blackjacked everyone :ebil:

I have a list of the secrets and a loot list, compiled by myself and Peter Smith, while testing. I don't want to post them here, but I'll e-mail them to you. :)
