Hey, I also wanted to compliment you, Lord Alan, for such a beautiful FM. It feels very unique (maybe a European/Italian feeling? I spent my early years in Italy but I don't remember much ) but at the same time the atmosphere/architecture isn't so different from Thief that it doesn't work. This is one of those locations I think could be made into several different missions (I wish someone did that to some of the city street locations in Thief I and II, but I guess everyone wants FULL credit), I think a fan of Lord Alan or this FM could come up with something cool that has nothing to do with this FM, or maybe it could be a pre/se-quel even. The sky was brilliant as others already said, and I absolutely adored the flock of birds flying around, as well as the full moon :D I don't mean to compliment too much, but I knew this FM was a gem after only beginning to go through the sewers! Every section of this mission shows the mastery and great amount of detail and love put into this. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it with the advice about the "Shot the Dark" clue and finally get The Truth back to Sir Ignaz. The ambients are very nice too, and I enjoyed your composition of Thief ambients that can be downloaded at your site (I can't believe I didn't think of that before!). Hope you make a sequel to this one too :thumb:
Cheers,
deadman.

Is it just me, or did the code for the cube vault remind you of that scene from Spaceballs when
the president of the planet is reciting the code to open the upper atmosphere to steal its air:
Pres.: The code is one...
Maj. Asshole: one!
Lord Helmet: one!
Pres.: two....
MA: Two!
LH: Two!
P: three...
MA: Three!
LH: Three!
P: four
MA: Four!
LH: Four!
LH (a la Darth Vader): So the code is one, two, three, four...
*helmet flips up* That's the dumbest code I've ever heard in my life! It's like the code an idiot would use for his suitcase.
And of course later Mel Brook's character finds out the code and says: That's amazing, that's the *same* code I use for my suitcase. :laff:
LOL!!! When I heard the door click open after entering that code, all I could do was :tsktsk:

It's nice to see a mission with some wildlife , even a small flock of birds . It would be good to see some more for added realism . Still on the topic of birds I have one nagging question to ask . After playing all of these nice missions with their well done kitchens , what's up with the roast chicken , is it all gone bad or what ?:erg:

After playing this mission, I can say that the bar has been raised with fan missions. I hope this doesn't spoil me.
If we keep getting fan missions as well made as this one, I won't need to hold my breathe for Thief 3.
An instant favorite! :thumb: :thumb:

Awesome mission! Stuck on two things:
I'm in the area with the face and the frobbable eyes, which I've opened, but can't find Lord Alan - previous threads suggest that he's around here somewhere? Could somebody spoil me with a specific location please?
and
I've been through all the riddle corridors and ended up in front of the winged statue with the plaque that says "Don't trust what you see" or something similar. Where is the Truth and how do I reach it please?
Really grateful for any help.... thanks again

Kimberley,
You're on the right track. As to your first question:
Lord Alan is in the underground cavern area, but there are two separate areas that you can access from the cave with the steaming pits and the portrait of Victoria. You need to find the entrance to the other part.
And the second question,
The plaque on the floor talks about trust. There's only one obvious exit from the tower with the statue. Why don't you take a bold step...
Honestly, every time I think that this mission has shown me everything, something grand, new and interesting comes up! Amazing.
