No, I'm not going to "kill" you. :) Not everyone can be expected to like every mission and you made an honest effort to explain what you didn't like and why in a polite manner and that's very acceptable.

Personally I found the floating skulls and mech/skeleton hybrids to be rather silly-looking and felt entirely new skins/meshes would've done more justice (though I'm sure many authors would do that if they could). Also, I hate to continually go against the grain so to say, but felt this mission didn't live up to it's predecessor, Lorgan's Web, which was an awe-inspiring classic. It just seems (and I know I talk about it a lot, they are two subjects that stand out for me the most in any instance) the architecture was for the most part, another casualty of the old adage "Build a sprawling city? But surely each room, each corner will be lacking -- for when The Builder places boulder upon boulder, he must sacrifice the quiet and humble beauty of pebble placed upon pebble."---I think ultimately one should try to place as much care and thought into each individual place, regardless of it's importance in the scheme of things or story. If they don't truly love it enough to do this, to perfect and hone atmospheres strong enough to will the player to actually desire to go to that place in real life, they have failed.
Wow, how
encouraging to any other potential authors out there!. Hehe, I used to want to choke you deadman, but I've grown to realize you are TTLG's GREATEST COMIC!:laff: :laff: :laff: :laff: Anyone, and I mean
ANYONE who has even an inkling on how long and hard it takes to create a decent FM, can clearly see what tremendous talent Shadowspawn has! I found the new ai to be very spooky and unique, not to mention the technical wizardry it took to create the special effects which brought new life to a famous OM! If such a talented and well-respected member of this community (who was here
long before either of us) doesnt meet your high standards, just who will?:weird: Tell you what, if you think so many FM's are lacking in quality-BUILD A BETTER ONE! Put up or shut up kid. :sly:

Whoa if FM Makers keep this up, Thief 2 is going to turn into Thief 3 in a couple of years.
No one noticed the fluttering banners!? (4-5 frames yes but a great improvement nonetheless) or
the ol' drunkard from the tavern level who keeps passing out on the way to his home? :laff:
This FM rocked!
Hm, I wonder, what triggers the insurance lad to turn back into a human? Is it a timelock?

Thiefsie Fool: am I remembering incorrectly? Way back in Bafford's there were fluttering banners, right? Does the FM you're referring to improve upon the original fluttering banners in some way?

:D Nightwalker, a overdue thank you, I got my custom script problem solved with a important clue from your reply, I needed to unzip the file (duh!) then it worked much better, and now I'm enjoying getting my butt kicked by a bunch of freaky AI. Thanks again.

Ok, it's FlutterBan2_0 I'm thinking of, and it's T2 only. So I don't remember which mission it was in first that I saw it, but it had to be T2.

This mission is brilliant in so many ways; the reuse of life of the party, the incredible scripts, the great story elements, the extra nooks and crannys to explore, though I've never been a fan of goofy humour in a game like thief, it just doesn't sit in my opinion.
Despite how much I liked about this mission, I feel that the main element of fun is totally destroyed due to the fact that the creatures teleporting in spoil everything that is fun about thief to me. Take for example the guy commiting suicide, I could not get close enough before having to go through some light and having to run from a creature and missing out.
Also, the fact that the creatures attack and kill the people in the game ruin many of the scripted sequences, I heard one of them commenting about the guy who jumped but, you guessed it, they get ganked by a teleporting creature that is after me when I hit the shadow to hide, and I didn't get the opportunity to hear what it was about.
Perhaps it's my own fault for playing it on expert? I didn't get to see a -single- scripted sequence in the game due to teleporting monsters breaking up the fun. Does this still happen in an easier mode?
There should have been more shadows near scripted events.
And WHERE in the name of god is that freakin' library? I think I've turned the city upside down twice over and can't find the place. Thanks.
