Hello one and all.
I haven't been around in a very long time but it's so good to be back.
First off, R_T, BRILLIANT mission and thanks so much for your hard work on it. Though I have a rather embarrassing question. :o
I have been playing for 25 minutes now and I can't find the person I'm supposed to meet on the top floor of the Seagull's Nest. I've read every post and apparently no one else has had this problem. I've gone to the top floor using the front door and going up two flights of staris but apparently there's another way I'm supposed to get there. I'm VERY frustrated and, as I said, embarrassed :o that I can't seem to get the mission started.
I'm looking for an outright spoiler of where to go.
Thanks in advance,
*C*

You need to use the mask you found on the person on the top floor who is wearing the same sort of mask.

(always loved all that secret society rigamarole!)

When you start the mission go ahead and enter
the house at the left by using the key in the flower, enter and take the mask, then give it to the white masked guy in the Seagull's Nest, he'll give you instructions and a lockpick :thumb:

It's been a few months since I played Vagabond, but it's still fresh on my mind because it was such a fun experience. What worked so well from the start was pulling off a non-Garrett character and making their motivations believable. That real people end up in compromising situations through destitution is something I haven't seen much of in games. Not like this, anyway.
I also love fan missions that give you a non-combat roaming ground. It makes you feel like you're in something larger than just a game of stealth, and also draws a sharp line between the private spaces of others. It's an especially effective device for telling stories about clandestine authorities.
Myślę, że ten jest najlepszy FM. ;)

Just finished the misssion. Very well done RT, I really enjoyed it a lot!
Especially liked the way the mission unfolded - run an errand, get another objective - and of course the optional objectives.

The ghost blemish was that on entering Rybolf's room, I found him standing on the table nearly staring at the wine bottle. I couldn't get past him, and I couldn't get him to move, so the only way to complete the objective was to BJ him. I'm sure that is a random occurrence, but maybe his path could be adjusted to help prevent it.
Another strange thing, which I can't find reported here, is that I went into the Billowing Sails with the
proper invitation, and I found myself locked inside after a little thieving. I reloaded a save I made just after entering the Billowing Sails, and sure enough, the door locked itself, or the outside guard locked it, at the moment I reloaded. Looked a long time without finding an escape route. I reloaded to a save a half hour previous, and it did not happen the second time through. I kept running down to check the door to make sure it was not a timed thing. It didn't seem to be.
I experienced exactly the same two issues:
I wasn't trying to ghost, so the first one was no trouble... *smack* -> :bored:
Getting out of the Billowing Sails was quite a challenge though... I tried jumping around in the outside lower floor, bashing the grates, bashing the door, throwing an unconscious body down in front of his face - just in order to get the guards attention so he'd unlock the door. No luck, although he really freaked out.
Finally managed to make my way out over the railings (by a *felt* half hour of bodystacking & jump over attempts).
Only after having to resort to that I became suspicious that that was not the planned way...
Anyway, I could finish the mission despite that bug.
Thanks for another great FM!
