I did solve the bonus (anagrams r ez), but I figured that it was prolly a mite bit late to actually
e-mail Thorin! ;) :laff:
So I just used the walkthru to get the bonus message! :p
Another thing is that only sighted ppl are gonna be playing a Thief FM
and only blind ppl know braile! (mostly)
TG for walkthrus - but it musta been a pain to try to figure out before dear Freddy wrote it up!
That's why I feel that making a code secret hard to figure out is okay,
as long as the solution is one that the rank and file stand a chance to understand and decipher!
(so no braile, nautical code, nor morse code need apply!) :cheeky:
It was a fun one tho, when I got my first good look at "Cop Grand Central"
I almost crapped my pants!
Talk about your frikin sea of BLUE!
This FM also made me really really wish that Truart had'nt been killed by Viktoria!
I wanted to be the one to do it SOOO bad after this FM!
One thing that made no sense to me tho was doin what Karras
said to do in that scroll - was it something never implemented?

You have to figure out nothing in this mission if you don't want to. Did you bother to read the Darkloader info page?
Difficulty Level Info : Normal -dead give away clues-don't play this level if you'd like to solve things on your own.
Hard -some good clues, but still a bit of a challenge.
Expert -for super sleuths who'd like to solve puzzles on their own.
You pick your own poison in this game.

That last thing with Karras's instructions?

I'm not sure what you mean. More details please.

going up the ladder and spying on the churchgoers!

Freddy used a little-known search engine called Google to help him figure out the codes. Link (
www.google.com) here. :p

Awesome to hear, even so many years later.

Hmm... tbh I have mixed feelings (no pun inteded!) about this FM. At start I totally loved it. I play the german version and the self-made conversations were super funny (like the potato fight), but when I got further into it I started to really dislike it. I don´t know if I just had a bad day or it was just too late at night for me to think properly, but I had alot of problems with finding the solutions to alot of stuff. I also ain´t a fan of those tiny little switches. If they just reveal a secret which is not necessary for the objectives its still all right, but having to find those tiny little switches to get further in the mission really sucks imo. And this FM definitely had too many of those.
I also could not find the code for Rosies cell, I had to look it up here. I always read all the readables and listen to all the conversations, but I have no idea where the clue for this code was.
Also people talked about ape areas and a portal, hell, I didn´t even find those in the whole mission. No idea where that was supposed to be. I never found a use for the rubies, goldies and silver either. The only time I found a readable about those was Truarts diary under the bed.
I´m not going to replay it though, so it doesn´t really matter anyway.
