Oh that's just stupid! I quit! Having to learn Braille to play a Thief mission is the dumbest thing i've heard of yet! I wish you taffers' would just hide the codes instead of making a puzzle to get past doors with combination locks, i can never get past them!
Next mission please! :p

I hate to say it, but I share sluggs impressions. I mean what? Braille??? We don't have to go that far in an FM, I think... OK, I will try to complete this FM and search the net for Braille... *sigh*

OK, OK...
I HEREBLY ANNOUNCE THAT I HAVE FOUND THAT BRAILLE CODE. AND I AM GOING TO POST IT. OK, LISTEN FOLKS, THE CODE IS:
9475
CLICK IT AND LET'S PROCEED. :ebil:

Thanx taffer but i found it by looking in Dromed! Having to take such a drastic action has spoiled the mission for me. :(

I cracked the Braille-thing. :cheeky: But I think the paintings in Truart's manor were also supposed to give the answer. I
can understand 4 fingers as 4 (2nd digit) and 5 fingers as 5 (4th digit), but I have no idea how I was supposed to figure out 9 and 7.
:erm:
Anyway, I have just finished this FM on Normal... :D
I still would like to get an answer for my question: was the 'mice' theme taken from "Flowers for Algernon" by Daniel Kayes, because that's what I recall, yet I read this book quite a while ago.

You don't have to learn Braille to figure it out. There are a number of clues in the mission that you can figure the code out from. That's only one of them. This is definitely a mission for people who like to play detective, though. The paintings jericho mentioned are another clue but, again, you may have to do some research to figure it out.
As for those who are stuck in the Tree village part
did you listen to the conversation between the two apebeasts that began when you first walked out of the portal? They were talking about something having been hidden under a "stumpsie" but now they can't remember which one. That's what you need to find.
Thanks Nightwalker i've finished the mission. :D

I just don't know what to say! I give Thorin and Uncadonego praise for the new ideas but having to search the web for the answers is taking things a bit too far.
I really wanted to enjoy this mission but i couldn't. Apart from these difficult puzzles, there were other things that i didn't like about the mission as i said in my earlier post.
The mission seemed lifeless and unfinished to me. Not enough AI about, nothing much going off in the city, no bystanders chatting, no smoking chimneys, not one cloud in the sky, not enough wind ambients about, textures that were just pebbledashed onto the walls without alignment, no change in objectives in higher difficulty settings...
Other's may enjoy this mission but i can't seem to although i've tried to. Sorry to hurt your feelings Thorin but that's how i feel.
It was nice to have another FM to play anyway. :D

Thanks Nightwalker. I think I was scrambling for cover during that conversation so I didn't really hear all that was said. :o
I really enjoyed this one! :thumb: I especially liked how
the radio in the basement was beeping out the actual morse code of the combination to the lock.
To the author(s): In another thread I read about some items reverting to their original positions when certain switches were flipped. I think I ran into something similar:
I picked up Rosie and took her home (thus checking off the objective). I had closed the door to her cell behind me (out of habit). :cheeky: I returned later and opened her cell door and Rosie reappeared in the cell and the objective became unchecked.
I just mention this in case you're planning an update.
