Azaran-have you acquired the book yet? The thing is that in this mission you will need to revisit certain areas several times as you receive new objectives.
To acquire it: go to the room with the rat cage, there is a note which will explain some important things about the sound and the mirror. Turn on the button near the cage so the rat starts screaming, then record the sound with victrola. Turn off the button, go to the mirror room, and play victrola and see what happens, take the thing.
Next, return all the way back to the bridge to the City, and you will be presented with new objectives. Return back to the black-white mansion, go twice upstairs to the right and on the "pedestal" there will be a note in the smoke. Read it and follow instructions. Note that certain areas now are accessible and other will open as you progress and certain things will become frobable.

I'm trying to find the 2nd talisman piece. I got the first one from the bloody skeleton (and got the taff scared out of me in that room :ebil:), but I can't find the other one

It's behind one of the glass windows in the big entrance room. They are locked and the lock I believe it's in the safe room which you could not open before. For the latter you will need a key which you will find in the wardrobe in the room with the dead lady and hot scepter. Note that this room will become "available" as you progress or maybe it already is, just revisit.

There's a couple of doors in the basement, but I can't frob them. I have a diamond and a pen, but I don't know where to use them, and nothing else seems to have opened up :(

Regarding the pen. In the safe room, where you took it, they are still two things that must also be taken: the paper and the ink which you probably have missed. Then go back down to the basement, go first forward to the white door (which you can't open) and then turn right, almost 180 degrees and go to the narrow coridor when there should be another door on your right which you can open. Frob the crystall ball, you will now have the required written item in your inventory which you take upstairs and give it to the mysterious person pedestal. You should receive another letter from him explaining what to do next. At this point you should have and read both his "Thanks" and "Help" letter.
Regarding the room of the dead lady. It's on the first floor, at first it's blocked, but when you return later, a part of the wall will crash and you can enter. I don't remember what event triggers this, but just follow instructions from the letter.
Regarding the diamond, this is the thing that got me confused too. The diamond is actually part of the talisman. So to create Talisman of life, you will need 4 pieces, of which only 2 are actually "talisman" pieces, and the other 2 parts are diamonds.
Hint for both diamond locations: 1) on the house roof 2) dead lady room, look for a switch at the bed... :)

Ok I finished everything, and the guy killed all the undead, but the bridge isn't restored so I can't get back to the city

When all the enemies are killed, the guy should stop panicking and should stand still at some place before the cliff. You will need to frob him (he has to highlight), firstly there and secondly just before the bridge where you will meet him again.
Some reported problems with frobbing the guy, in this case try to wait a little. What I did was just saved and reloaded the situation.

Yeah there's a serious problem there. He stood still for about 2 minutes and I still couldn't frob him. Then when I save and reload, he starts freaking out again
