T2 FM: Moth to a Flame (Jun. 29, 2004)

Hi All; I'm hoping someone can help me with some hints to complete this older mission I've been replaying. There are two areas I've been unable to get into... One is the jail, and the other is the gate by the scarecrows.
I'm playing on expert, and have the bank haul and over $6000, but that's it.
I tried looking for threads to this FM, but cannot find the help I need. Thanks :)

To get into the jail [SPOILER] you need to find the key. There's a small inn at the end of a street past the little market with the drunk guard standing by the center pond. The guard in the room upstairs in the Inn is wearing the jail key. [/SPOILER]

The gate by the scarecrows is probably the park gate. If so, then [SPOILER] in the area of town where you find the gate into the Warrens, there's a small room that unlocks with a key one of the guards is wearing. Go through the window at the far end of that room and into a back alley. There's an open window into an apartment you can climb through. Once you're in there, check the picture frame for a small lever. [/SPOILER]

Thanks, Nightwalker; I've now completed this FM.
I had neglected to grab the key from that guard for the jail. And I missed that little switch for the garden key. I remembered completing this mission when it first came out. I must be getting sloppy in my old age. ;)

Yes I've just finished this one too. Great FM. Loved exploring the intricate layout of streets and alleys. Good stuff. I usually go to search on the bar just below the welcome message and type in the name of the FM. Usually but not always something will turn up. Often we get stuck at the same places.

[SPOILER]The broken lift shaft can be used with a rope in the ceiling. Max up if you can and jump when you reach the end of the rope and you will not die.[/SPOILER]

I really have never been where you are talking about! I don't see a POND! I am standing outside the old gaol door...can you direct me from there?

It's a very little, ornamental pond. :) Okay, I'll try.

[SPOILER] Can you find your way to the spot near the canal where you see the "Audale" and "Market" street sign? It's where you had to open a gate to get into the other part of town. Walk up the sloped street there and at the top go straight ahead (W) along the street. Keep straight ahead until you can't go any farther (you'll be up against a white and tan sort of building). At that point, turn left then take the next right and walk down a sloping street. There's a small clearing here with a couple of tables off to your left, a passageway to your right and another street straight ahead. Take it, walk up a couple of steps and turn left. Straight ahead of you, you'll see a passageway with a "Red Bull" sign posted on the wall beside it. Walk down that passageway and you'll see the drunken Hammer by the pond. Go through that square, out the far side and when you emerge from that passageway, you'll be in a street. There's a woman standing on the right and the Ancient Unicorn pub is on the left. That's where you'll find the guard with the Gaol key. [/SPOILER] I hope that helps and doesn't confuse you more. :)
