I had the same problem. Here's how I claimed I "solved" it: "I just reloaded into this mission (I switched to play a different mission) and now I'm able to put out the first torch, at least."
Maybe this will work for you, too. Hope so!

Same thing for me
I'm in the small courtyard in front of the first torch and using holy water does nothingI reloaded the mission of course but nothing changes, could it be a script issue? I'm playing with the french version on expert.

I experimented a bit and replacing the NVScript.osm (04/03/08) in my fm's folder with the one in my dark2 folder (12/27/14) corrected the issue.

Here I am over one year later after my last comment, replaying this gorgeous mission and thinking again what a masterpiece it is. Definitely my favourite museum mission :D
Actually all missions from this author are favourites of mine.
I even had to make a screenshot cause I loved this scenery with the statues so much:angel:

Btw are there any plans for the author to make a 3. part? I noticed garrett saying "this looks like the way in" at the end of the mission so I assume there was supposed to be a third mission.

A visitor message to Wille from 2011 contained a question on how he was getting along with "Mystic Gems III", but Wille's last activity here was (according to the TTLG.COM site) in 2015. Looks like there will not be any continuation of the campaign.:(

Replayed this just now and found a couple of issues. As reported on above, the old NVScript.osm in the zip causes the magical torches not to go out when using the holy water vial. The game still registers that they have been put out, so you can still do this and finish the mission, but that's hard for the player to know since the lights don't visually get extinguished. So I replaced the file in the zip with the 9/15/2015 one, and then it worked fine, even without a restart.
However, when I tested by replaying from the beginning again using the new script file, this now interferes with several loot items not being frobbable. The mask behind the hidden painting in the curator's office doesn't frob. None of the gems or golden skull behind the glass displays to the southeast on the second floor also do not frob. With the old script file they could be frobbed through the glass, now with the new one they can't be frobbed even after picking open the display, so you can't get all the loot. Should definitely be looked at this. I can supply savegames, but I'm not exactly sure from where or what version of nvscript that should be from.
