There isn't a switch for that you need to find a two identical items to put somewhere.
I don't know which door you need the key for.

Playing on hard...I found the ..switch that moves the sarcophagus in front of the alchemists door and when playing on normal did some blind frobbing in that store room and opened the alchemists lab door but I cannot find where it is on hard, a pointer please...:D

@ maga - If you enter the Red room by the door and go to the left to the cupboard next to a table along the far wall you should find what you want.
@ Ravenhook - should be in the same place. I think under a shelf near the upright of the shelving unit, near the ladder.

The other one is in the Alchemist's room quite close to the pedestals. I thought their names were the other way around. Sorry!
