Thank you guys. I assumed there was a way to open the door so I never thought of looking for another way out.
Some kind of note or something would've worked wonders for this. Thanks for the help guys.

I can't seem to activate the switch for the upper floors on the elevator despite unlocking the latch adjacent to it. Am I missing something or is this a glitch?

Hmmm, it does sound like a glitch. Let me look at the mission real quick and see if anything comes to mind. So the buttons for the upper floors remain unfrobbable even after unlocking the lockbox?
Edit: The buttons require NVScript to become frobbable after you unlock the lockbox. Please check that the file nvs.osm is in your Thief folder while the mission is installed. If it is, give its size and timestamp. It's possible that the version in your mission ZIP is corrupted or otherwise unusable by the mission.

Thank you for the mission! I liked everything, textures, light from windows in basement, random patrol. Everything is nice.

I found NVScript from (
http://www.thiefmissions.com/scripts/) and installed the two files from the zip into my Thief 2 directory. I launched the game via DarkLoader, loaded my saved game, and the switches still won't work.
Any ideas?
nvs.osm:

As an aside, the small square switches do not work either. For instance,
the small switch behind the work bench that is supposed to move the painting doesn't work.

It doesn't matter if you had NVScript installed before hand or not, the OSM is included in the ZIP and nvs.osm is a non-standard filename. The mission will look for only that filename, and yours appears to be the correct one. However, the button not working is further evidence that there is a problem with that script module in your mission, as it uses an NV Script to move the painting.
Let's rule out this being just a fluke - I suggest you uninstall/reinstall through Darkloader, then restart the mission fresh on Normal, KO the basement guard and then go straight to try frobbing the button on a fresh game and see if it works. If it does, try the elevator buttons again to make sure they work - on Normal you can just pick the lockbox. If that doesn't work, I'll try to fix your savegame if you email it to me. They ZIP up pretty nicely so you can just attach it to the email.
Romashka01: Glad you liked it!

Unfortunately, you may have to restart the mission :erm:
edit: oops....Yandros' answer is
probably a bit better than mine :cheeky:

How do I uninstall a mission from Darkloader?
Tannar on 18/3/2010 at 03:30
In Darkloader, select the Original Missions and install them. That will uninstall the FM.

Is the FM supposed to disappear from the list of mods in DL after doing this? because the mission did not disappear, nor did I lose any of the saved games.
I started a new game on Normal and it still doesn't work. Strange.
How do I send you a saved game?
