What difficulty are you playing on? On Expert, as soon as you read the scroll in the cabinet drawer, the key will appear on the table behind you. If it doesn't, you may be having script problems, although in this case it would be tnhScript instead of NVScript.

Oh blast. Yes, am definitely on Expert (and have managed to ghost so far, with a few restarts -- that red "ghosting failed" message is a nice touch).
Guess I need to disclose at this point that I'm running Thief2 under Wine on Ubuntu with compatibility mode set to Windows 98 (no idea what effect that has).

Hmmmm, well there was one known issue with an older version of tnhScript (1.54) running in Win9x, but that was a crash and was fixed in the version in this mission. All I know to tell you is, email me your save game and I'll make the key appear for you - it's inside the wall and is supposed to get moved out onto the table when you read the parchment in the drawer, but obviously isn't.

The size should be fine, my email can accept up to 20MB attachments. Save files ZIP up quite nicely as well.

Hey, that was a nice time spending the afternoon. :) Sneaking on Expert wasn't easy for me, especially after a year-long absence from Thief, but it was great fun, since it was small enough not to frustrate. Thanks for the entertainment, Yandros!
