This is a GOLD FM if I ever saw one Eshaktarr! I personally think you missed your calling and should give Randy and Warren at ION a call - but I gots me 1 question as one who had dealt with that tempremental lil program called Dromed (although I could never pull something off like this)..
How did you EVER get Dromed to run all this custom stuff with a level this large?
Anyway, what an incredible fan mission and I must say definitely 1 of the best ever made and thank you very much for all your hard work!

I've managed to solve everything on my own except for two things (playing on expert):
Where in heaven's name is the Talisman of Life? Is it:
Down the hallway from the bottom of the leaning tower? If so, I got through the traps, toting la corpse along (after returning for him, of course) and plopped him on the second press plate, expecting the gate to rise and the door to open. Nada. The only other dead flesh I can think of is the chunk 'o' beef I got from the kitchen and that doesn't work either :) I'm assuming the Talisman of Life is in there?
I have all three gems, 4/5 diary pages (but I think I know where part 3 is), the sword, the will, 5/8 secrets, proof of the mages, my skillet, and I helped Benny. I've been to the Riddler's tomb, to the sword, to the vault, the attic, the blocked room, the family tomb, the sewers (and turned on the holy water), the cellars where a gate also blocks an elevator in the burrick stables, and I even lured out the guard from the upper balcony so I could knock him out and steal his key. And I actually gasped when I passed through the last door in the vault!
Yet, the thread references a tomb/hatch that I have not yet discovered - also from that hallway that wants the dead flesh? I know of the "well" in the family tomb (I'm one of those who accidentally frobbed the switch) but no haunt has appeared in the chapel so I'm assuming I haven't triggered whatever I wasn't supposed to trigger.
In sum, I'm a bit stuck :)
On a happy note, between Rowena's Curse and this mission, I have been one incredibly happy taffer - these are my absolute favorite types of missions - thank you for the beautiful work!
Cheers!

For anyone that still needs it, be reminded we're 'hosting' it at #thief-fms on Starchat. We get FMs as soon as they come out, you can be sure, and some of us don't have such slow upload rates :p. Visit us lonely taffers sometime :bored:.
Damn everyone for not loving the ease and convenience that is mIRC :cheeky:.
deadman.

Melissa,
Regarding the Talisman of life,
you are on the right track. Did you place rocks on the two pedestals to raise the portculis? If yes, then after that you retrieve the dead hammerite lying at the foot of the leaning tower, the one who left a last note, and place him directly on the floor plaque that asks for an offering of dead flesh. If that doesn't work, it would be the first time I have heard of this problem. Maybe you need to read the note. Just a guess. Or maybe frobbing that fountain switch (a bug) messed things up.
Regarding the last question, I am not exactly sure what you mean, but I'll give a clue about what I think you mean.
Does it refer to a relief that is different from others? If yes, find some bas-reliefs of corpses right at the top of the leaning tower room. Find one such relief facing in the opposite direction from others and rope up there. What you find will open up a new area.
Smithpd,
Thank you! I completely missed:
any reference to placing the rubble on the white pillars. I had 'em on the trigger pads in the hallway going in, thinking they were keeping me from being fired upon. Was this mentioned in a note somewhere?
Cheers!

@DidThatShadowMove: about the fight - in Thief, I count ends where you can largely avoid fighting a virtue. Another definitive plus to this mission.
BTW, does anyone know....
if the haunts are destroyed, too, when you destroy the book? In my game, I destroyed them beforehand by backstabbing, but I'd like to know if that could have been avoided.
Thank you all very much for your kind comments :)
Ieldra,
All haunts (even the death watch) die as soon as you cut the book. It is possible to play the entire FM without having to deal direct damage to any enemy.
