Hi there
I agree with all the others - this is an outstanding fan mission - my congratulations!
I have all objectives ticked off except the Talisman of Life.
Any guidance please on
Is there a way of not getting killed in the corridor that's trapped in the crypt? I've worked out that I need the two rocks to place on the pillars - but can only ever get one rock - and when I do I'm so low on life because of the traps that I need to start again. I know I need to put the dead body of the Hammerite on the plaque later - but it's those damn traps that keep getting me! Is it possible to jump over the triggering floor block? So two questions: How do I avoid getting blasted by the traps? and How do I get two rocks rather than one?
Many thanks in advance - oh and one more question:
am i missing something in the sewers? I can only find the exit - not the entrance to the burricks. Does this door only open later when I do something else?
Kimberly -
Don't worry about the burricks. You'll get to them eventually. When you have all the objectives ticked off, head for the exit. You'll run into them.
As for the trap corridor, I don't know how it was designed to work, but this is what I did:
Run around the corner, step on the pressure plate just enough to trigger it, then dash back around the corner. There's time before the fireballs shoot. Next I picked up Brother Sorven and left him beside the rock that fell. Jumped over the rock and crouched up against the wall. The fireballs from this trap will miss you that way. Grab the rock and continue down around the corridor. Put it on one of the pedestals, then go get Sorven. Crouch again because the second trap can trigger again. Grab Sorven, take along the corridor and put him on the floor right in front of the gate. (If you look closely, there's another pressure plate there) then step back. Another rock falls. Use it to weigh down the second pedestal and the gate will open. You should be able to get through this area without taking any damage at all.
I'm stuck and would appreciate some help.
I've found the icegem, the talisman of life, and the sword. I found a pile of treasures in the Tomb of the Ridler. I found some gems in a floor safe next to the front door of the mansion. I climbed up onto the ceiling of the chapel, but there seemed to be nothing up there. I've found what I believe to be the entrance to the vault. It's a depression in the floor next to the statue on the level above the chapel. I guess this is what I need to open next, but I'm not sure. I can't make any sense out of the inscription on the statue or the stained glass in the elevator shaft.
Billdun:
This one confused me too. Think about the plaque on the Death Statue and how it relates to the stained glass in the elevator.
After felling many a guard with my trusty skillet, I finished this very nice mission. There is one thing that bugs me still tho....
I took a ride on the dumbwaiter, and saw into a room with red lights that I was never able to find the way into.
Any help on that one?
Skillet of Whomping, Ye ol Holy sponge, Holy Water at the push of a button, Benny NOT being a drunken fool, and donuts of healing... I LOVE IT!
Jabberwocky,
Underneath the stairs in the manor's main entrance is a secret room. One of the coathooks can be frobbed. Go inside and look up: You can climb up there with a rope arrow. An optional objective is waiting for you ;)
I think I must be destined to be the next Indiana Jones, because I made it over all three, jumping backwards! My timing/guessing must've been just right, because I cleared them all and didn't even see them coming! :laff: Yes, I have to brag about this; it was just a perfect Garrett Moment? and I couldn't have felt cooler in that moment ;). After this, I just picked up the rubble, threw it to the end of the corridor, and easily jumped over the two trap switches (just keep jumping, and if you're lucky like me, you won't be on either long enough to depress them all the way). Eerily, the second boulder that fell didn't damage me at all.. Or maybe it wasn't supposed to (?). I can't imagine why folks didn't figure out
which dead flesh would be adequate for the 'sacrifice'. It was an evil necromancer, for christ's sake!
Now, if only I could find 'the attic' (I've been in one, but this apparently isn't the right place as I've searched high and low), find the key to open those double doors (not the entrance to the crypt) and figure out how to open up
that secret passageway beyond the Farrington's family tomb section. What's up with that ethereal skull that came flying towards me from this area?
Tafftastic FM, though you do seem to have something of a weakness when it comes to providing sufficient clues, Eshaktaar. I suppose we're all just stupid :joke:.

deadman,
Congratulations on getting through that trap without a scratch :) There's more opportunity to get hurt later on, though ;)
You have the attic key, right? There are three trapdoors at different locations of the manor where you can use it (all in the ceiling, of course). Maybe you've missed one of them?
That section behind the family tomb with the skull that flew towards you is actually a bug. You should not have been able to enter that part, because it's supposed to be an exit for later. No worries, you haven't broken anything serious in the mission, you've just seen something a bit too early. I'm curious how you got in: Did you frob the switch through the door at the well, i.e. did you lean inside?
Yandros on 14/8/2003 at 19:32
I can answer that as I did it too...
I frobbed the switch easily from inside the family crypt. Didn't lean or anything, and I don't even think I was as close to the fountain thingie as possible either.
I finally just finished, and WOW! Nice ending! When I mentioned being "almost done" earlier, turns out I had a good third of the mission left to go! I love the way everything ties together so well. I only wish you had offered
another bonus objective for laying Robert to rest, as I bothered to tote him all the way back through the sewers to put him in his casket (and even closed the lid!) After all, he wasn't really evil... he was manipulated just like Garrett.
deadman. Sounds like you'll excel at playing
St. Francis' Folly when I get it done.... lots of jumping, mantling etc. Although after playing OB, I want to hang it up and cry as I'll never be able to match Eshaktaar's effort here! ;)
