Congratulations on finishing it, Yandros!

In the fixed version, the switch will be much further away, so you can't possibly frob it from the family tomb side.
I only wish you had offered
another bonus objective for laying Robert to rest, as I bothered to tote him all the way back through the sewers to put him in his casket (and even closed the lid!) After all, he wasn't really evil... he was manipulated just like Garrett.

Actually, I wanted to include this, but unfortunately there's already the maximum of objectives visible on the objectives screen (with all the optional ones, as well). One more wouldn't even be displayed :(
Eshaktaar
big, big congrats for that fine mission!
Anyway I confess being jealous on what you are able creating with this Dromed :D
And i am stuck a this
craymen convention center
Must I 'kill', where is the exit/continuation?
A.

Thank you, Anderl2
Sneak behind the big crayman statue. There's a trapdoor you can open. Note that the dancing craymen are totally blind, so you only have to pay attention to the standing one.
After much toil and effort, I have finally finished Eshaktaar's fantastic mission. In Thief 2 terms, this is second only to the 7th crystal, this is less a level, more a work of art. What mission allows you to screw up by succumbing to your love of Bach?*. The architecture is superb, as is the game play, and it is thankfully completely ghostable**, despite the supernatural twist (damage done: 0 hehe).
The only problem with the mission is that the puzzles are incredibly difficult, perhaps even cryptic. This however is less of a problem with all the support here on TTLG, and thus I will complain no further. (Incidentally thanks to everyone for their help, without it, I would have tasted far fewer of this mission's splendours)
In conclusion then, Eshaktaar has created a modern classic, that should be downloaded by anyone with even a passing interest in Thief. This was well worth the wait/reinstall*** and I like so many others look forward to seeing more from Eshaktaar in the future :thumb: :thumb:
*"A taste for the Dramatic" - Damn right. When else are we ghosts going to do it? Gotta go out with a bang...
**If it wasn't a word before, it is now
***Excuse: HD reformat... honestly... you still don't believe me?

It brings up a good point: shots should be fired randomly (if this is possible) and very quickly to discourage something like what I just did. Unless there is no way to NOT set off something in a certain case; during these times there should always be a little niche or something to hide in so one doesn't force the player to accumulate damage.
You have the attic key, right? There are three trapdoors at different locations of the manor where you can use it (all in the ceiling, of course). Maybe you've missed one of them?

Maybe I just have a screwed up version, but all the keys I have aren't labelled . I wondered why this was the case, and thought it was one of the downsides to the mission. I probably have about six keys right now, but again, none are labelled, so it's rather annoying having to shuffle through them all when I want to unlock something or other. I could have the key, or maybe not. Where is it obtained?

I'm curious how you got in: Did you frob the switch through the door at the well, i.e. did you lean inside?

Yeah, I frobbed the switch :(. It looked to me like another secret entrace somewhere when I entered the room, so I immediately frobbed all over, thinking there would be some miniscule switch somewhere I wouldn't see. The funny thing is I didn't lean inside at all; I'd suggest making the distance Garrett can frob it less than it is. Glad to know this will be fixed later on though!
Originally posted by Yandros Sounds like you'll excel at playing St. Francis' Folly when I get it done.... lots of jumping, mantling etc. Although after playing OB, I want to hang it up and cry as I'll never be able to match Eshaktaar's effort here! ;)I love mantling and jumping! Read the spoiler tag in my above post if you weren't aware
why I'm suddenly the next Indiana Jones ^_^. I'm sure your FM will be fabulous; don't be silly by comparing your mission to anyone else's! Obviously we all can't make the best mission ever ever, in which case something will always be 'better' in our minds. Be mindful: Eshaktaar spent 10 months on this. Not to degrade from the achievement, but it takes time to make something better than an OM, as good as the 7th Crystal in terms of architecture, and as dark and ominous as Calendra's Legacy. This felt like The Inverted Manse in places..
I'm sure it'll be lovely :thumb:.
EDIT:
nm, Eshaktaar, I wasn't aware the pole was the 'key' to all ceiling compartments. It's logical enough, but I remember it being spoken specifically to get one of the gemstones, so thought it was only used for that one. Funnily enough, I used a few donuts to flareclimb up close enough to try to pick one open with my lockpicks........ it didn't work of course [;
I just started playing this mission, got the pan and have just made my first knockout (apart from the cookerine). This mission is amazing!! I haven't even seen 1/10 but I love it already. Nice architecture and textures :)
I feel so smart running around with a freaking pan in my hand! LOL :laff:

[Nightwalker, Eshaktaar]
All right, I reloaded from before I accidently went in through the out door.
I actually backed up to before I got the sword, so that this time I wouldn't end up fighting the ghost and busting my -- er -- my ghost. My ghosting?
Still a big question before I can continue (and last day left I can play before leaving for two weeks, so please hurry!):
In the crypt, I have done the following: gotten the treasure in the Riddler's Tomb (with the floor thingie), gotten the sword (without being seen by the ghost, and I even retrieved the holy sponge), gotten the Talisman of Life, gotten the secret room at the head of the stairs of the Farrington family tomb, climbed through the vent to restart the holy water, found the exit sewers (though I'm not sure I remember how to get back there, gotten the "crooked pole" (and I took along the head, too, just in case I needed it), robbed the vault (I guess that's above the temple, not strictly in the crypt).
I don't have any of the three jewels yet. Am I done in the crypts/temple for now? Or is there some big thing down there I'm ready for but haven't found yet?
Thanks, N & E.
Dafydd

Dafydd,
You are more or less done in the crypt, for now. All other items can be found in the manor itself. The crooked pole will come in handy, now.
Eshaktaar on 14/8/2003 at 20:54
deadman,
About the keys not being labelled: Strange, this must be a faulty file you've got there, because they all should have an individual name, like Wall Safe Key, Crypt Key, and so on. How about books and scrolls? Do they have individual names, or just Book or Parchment?

I have really enjoyed playing this mission but am stuck. I have read
all the posts regarding this FM on the TTLG Fan Mission forums and
although a lot of people seem to get stuck at the same spot as I am,
everyone seems to be able to figure it out for themselves and no
specific answers are given. So therefore I am going to have to bury my
shame as the worst taffer in the universe and ask for help.
I am quite a way into this mission actually (honest!) but I believe
that there are two things blocking my progress further.
Firstly, where o where is the key for the attic panels. I know that it is a pole that I am looking for and that it is somewhere in the vault area, but where EXACTLY is it? I have been stuck on this for two nights running and it is driving me mental so a specific answer would be nice.
Secondly, What else am I missing in the vault area? Ive read posts about switches and secret rooms but again there have been no specific answers. I hit the switch in the corridor under the loose brick but what does it do? I have also been down to the bottom and got through the traps to get the Talisman of life. What is with the family tomb room? What am I supposed to do in there? I cant find any switches or levers.
I really want to finish this mission as I have thoroughly enjoyed
every second of it. The attention to detail in this FM is what for me
has raised this one above the heads of many others.
Thanks Eshaktaar for all your hard work. I am very grateful (if slightly incompetent!) :thumb: :thumb:
