Finally finished the other day, that was one hell of a mission Eshaktaar. the story was as well craftd as the level itself.
A question for the list, is there a discussion thread about new creatures, weapons or misc? I dont have time to learn Drmed but if someone else liked an idea I propose they would be welcome to it. Id just like to see them in the game. If such a list doesnt exist could Id like to start one, a place where ideas would get thrown around between programmers and others in the community. For example, heres one idea, I dont know if its feasible or not. I call it the Arrow of the Kraken. Its a rope arrow but a very special one. It can stick to any surface as long as it has aflat face. Its named after the Kraken, a creature Ive heard mentioned in at least one FM, because its tipped with a Krakens sucker/claw, magically bound and its gripping power reinforced to bear a Thief's weight. It could even make a slight squishing sound when it hits.
Also, does anyone have a used copy of Thief Gold or Thief 1 they wouldnt mind selling? I lent mine to a friend and he, well, stole it. Kinda ironic.

Um, how does this arrow differ from the T2 vine arrow?

I wonder just how many FMs my name is listed in...I just noticed it's in this one, too. Now I've got to play it and see what it's like.

Dafydd vine arrow doesn't stick to stone or sheet metal, only to wood and grille metal.
Alex is talking about an arrow that sticks to any surface that is sufficiently flat.
i'm not sure about that tho... i think having an arrow that can stick to any type of material would make any mission too easy.
however, i think we could extend the idea a bit.
how about a
magnetic rope arrow that grips onto wood or metal, but not rock. not only is that (kinda) realistic, it also achieves the goal of expanding the uses of the rope arrow. there would be some drawbacks, though. for example, when you possess the magnetic arrow your compass always points toward your quiver. :)

EvilTritone, Ive thought about how it might make a mission too easy. The mission would have to be built with the arrows capabilities in mind. Also, the Kraken arrow is no commonplace magical item laying about like a toothbrush, it would have to be sought out and won like the magical swords usually are in FMs. A sub mission within a larger mission requiring the arrow to complete it. Steal it from the Mages Workshop or something.
I like the idea of a magnetic arrow though. Im into new arrows, the light arrows in Island of Iron II were choice! What about an arrow with an electrical charge, that can short circuit robots and security heads? I think its time the Mechanists came up with a robot that can withstand two water arrows, sheesh. Or a shadowarrow, that casts an area of darkness for a short period of time. Or guard decoy, like a flashbulb but upon impact a small charm is activated and a shadowy figure appears and flees, attracting the attention of guards Or how about a climbing clamp for the rope/vine arrows? Garret would have to take a little longer on the ground setting up his hitch, but then he could climb the rope and set the clamp, freeing up his hands. He could fire arrows from a height, but 1. he would have to be near a wall to brace himself and 2. he would have less time to make his shot due to the added effort.

These are two very cool ideas!!
Yes I see what you were saying about the Kraken arrow. Perhaps it could be part of a multi-mission FM, as a bonus objective in an early mission. Then later in the game you would have to use it to get to a stash of loot or something... hmmm i like where this is going :) Maybe we should start a "new weapon thread" to see if anyone knows how we could make these things... 'cause personally I don't know the first thing about how to modify the weapons in the game :(
And I had another idea! Perhaps Garrett could shoot a magnetic arrow at a mechbeast, and then skitch along behind them like a waterskier :)
p.s. you can just call me "tritone" or "tri" or whatever... no need for formal names here! ;)

Hey guys,
I've read through this entire thread, but couldn't find an answer to my question.
In the crayman area, with the crayman statue:
1. Do I need to get the Talisman of Life from the statue? If so, I can't figure out how.
2. I went through the hatch behind the statue and found the room with the skeleton and mask, but after taking all of the jewelry from the skeleton, I have no idea how to continue. I see a hidden door with a hole in the cieling above it in a corner... Since no one else has had a problem with this, I'm betting it's pretty obvious.
1.
No you dont need it
2.
Search for buttons in the walls (2 of them)
Great mission btw!
Oh and I found a funny thing that ruined a bit of my first-time-through-experience:
I don't know if this has been posted yet but... In the Farrington family tomb there's that small door... Well i was so curios that I carefully leaned through it and frobbed the switch. I wandered as far as I could and when I came back, Elizabeths coffin was open. Dunno if you could finish the mission after that...
saatana, that's one of the bugs I corrected in the later versions. Fortunately, it doesn't break the mission; you just get to see some things too early.

Are you a "Simpsons" fan Eshaktaar? :)
The family crypts are names of Simpsons charactors. Or am I reading too much into it? :)
I'm still working my way through, I'm in the lava room, and I think close to the end. But we'll see. I thought I was close to the end before. :) Excelent mission. I can't belive I am enjoying a mission with some undead/crypt elements. I usually shy away from those. :) Thanks for making such a great mission and scaring the pants off me once or twice!
