Yes, I have the horn of Dloren, but:
Where am I supposed to blow the horn? When I do it in the burricks area, no secret door appears, must be somewhere else.
As to part 4 of the diary:
I was never good at finding all these secret switches, perhaps I'm too impatient. :) I noticed the secret door close to where Benny was, but I couldn't find a switch to open it.
Jericho-
you must blow it in the burricks' hall after you read the letter.
Directly in front of you a trapdoor will eventually open(it's placed on the ground and may be difficult to find but there is!).
No need to harm the poor burricks.:)

Thanks! I got that right now. Hmm, and what do you know, the game is not yet finished after the escape from burrick's arena mm hmm. :sly:

No! I mean... shesh.... no no... this mission is WAY too good. People can't build missions like Ominous Bequest, because such missions make other Dromeders feel like small worms. :-)
I thought that
burrick area was the end of the game, how wrong I was....
Now I resurrected Kadar and there is a new objective. Another great room (gosh, when you walk into such a room all I can say is "wow!"), another great task and great use for
items collected in the manor
No, you can't build missions like Ominous Bequest! :laff: :laff: WAy too good. :thumb:

I'm stuck again:
I got out of the tunnels and got to the family tomb chamber. Now the necromancer seems to be resurrecting Elizabeth in the Hammerite Church and I can't go through the door, which are blocked by the blue particles. How to open the door?
Eshaktaar on 15/9/2003 at 16:15
You have to go around to re-enter the church from the other side: Go through the sewers back to where you encountered the burricks. There is a door open now that leads you to a new area. Once you get into the church, the force field will disappear in case you need to enter the crypts again.
Nightwalker on 15/9/2003 at 16:16
jericho -
You can't get in that way. Go back through the ventilation shaft in Robert Farrington's tomb and climb the ladder, the same way you did to get to the room with the burricks. There's another door open there now and you'll find a way to get onto the elevator to the burrick pens in the house basement. Then you can go back to the church through the house.
Thanks Eshaktaar and Nightwalker! I now finished the game. :cheeky: By the way, I wonder why people post things like "I finished the game, but I wonder if it is possible to open the other door in the church." :laff: :laff: :laff:
Anyway! Great great great mission! Eshaktaar, you're a genius! I have no idea how you managed to create this masterpiece within only 10 months. Is it at all possible? May I ask what inspired you? How did you come up with the plot? How did you start? Did you start by building a manor first or the crypt?

Thank you, jericho. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Here's some background info about the mission (probably more than you wanted to know ;)) Warning: Might contain some mild spoilers.
Since this was going to be my first FM, I decided to go for a manor mission, as they are easier to make than a city. At first, there was just the idea about Garrett using a testament as a "shopping list". As the manor grew, the plot evolved almost by itself: I spent a lot of time just walking through the mission, looking at the rooms and thinking what could have happened here. When I made the boarded-up door, I didn't know yet what exactly would be in the room behind it, or why it had been barred in the first place. I wanted the Farrington family to have a dark secret, hence the mission's title, but at that time I didn't know what it would be. Then I started building the church and the crypts. From then on it became quite clear to me that I had to provide some background story as to why there was an underground church beneath the manor, and who had built those catacombs.
The showdown was going to be in another plane of existence, similar to the maw, but then I found it more interesting to reuse the already existing architecture. That's where the idea about the three ritual chambers came from. During betatesting, Peter Smith helped me improving the story flow and make Garrett's motivations more clear.

By the way, I wonder why people post things like "I finished the game, but I wonder if it is possible to open the other door in the church."Some people managed to find almost all required items without discovering the testament first. Makes one wonder how they knew what to look for without the shopping list ;)

Whew! Just finished. I must say, that is quite the FM. Being my normal self, it took me 2 hrs and 4 min. But, to my credit, everyone was blackjacked, I had 100% loot, and ended with 1 (yes, that is ONE) life.
And yeah, I almost peed myself when that giant face appeared.
Great work! Cant wait to see what you come up with next. :thumb:
<edit> ^Someone said no need to harm the burricks. Well...uh...I emptied my quiver of fire arrows on em. So much for animal rights! j/k
