Have you . . . .
Found the way to the sewers?
Retrieved the Talisman of Life?
Visited the Riddler's Tomb?
Taken the magic sword from the stone?
Found your way to the Vault?
Opened the Inner Vault?
Visited the creepy barred(closed) room?
Found the Cold Storage key?
Recovered all three gemstones?
Entered the Captain of the Guard's room?
Opened the safe in the library?
I'm not sure which part you need help on, but these are some of the main points you'll need to hit upon. Look over your notes and hopefully you can figure out what you need to do next. If not, post or search this thread for help. :thumb: Good luck!

Hi...thanks for the help...I definitely need it!
Right now, I am in the church's basement/crypt/tomb area. I have the Talisman of Life vis the trapplate trick with the dead body. I killed the Haunt that rushed in and have made my way back to the Church's Hall. I have no sword, and I recall visiting the Family tomb site...the main guy's tomb was in another room bu there was nothing in his tomb...just a "Hmmm..." In that room I found the sewars but I walk around and he says "here's the exit" and nothing else...
What's the
Riddler's Tomb?"
And
I don't know where the vault is...nor have I visited the barred room...don't know how to get in there.
Also...
I have the Captain's Key...and I have the horn, etc...
Unfortunately
I haven't opened the LibraRY safe, no clue how to...I've tried picking the locks, no dice...I read the books in there including the one up on top of the shelf...but the writtings are so cryptic....PLEASE HELP!! Thanks.
What a contrasting mission to the last one I just finished NightFalcon, also very good, but it has NO puzzles and it a stright forward jack fest.
This on the other hand is so much more challenging.

Ah good. Now I can give you some specific hints and such. I agree about the difficulty of finding help in a thread this long. Oh, sure. The answers are probably somewhere . . . but which page!?! :p You end up getting way too many spoilers and still being confused. Anyways - on to the help!
The sewers will become important later. For now, be sure to look in there for a door next to the entry ladder. Inside are buttons to turn on the holywater founts in the church - you will need them for later, if you are playing on expert.
Next, be sure that you have the sponge - you find it in a small gardening room next to the central courtyard (room with fountain in main mansion). If you've got the sponge already, perhaps you have noticed that it reponds to water :)
Spray it with a water arrow to get a "Wet Sponge" which can douse torches!
However, we want something a little bit different. Reading the note next to the sponge suggests that it might also respond to holy water . . . .
Since you just turned on the holywater founts in the church, why don't you find out what happens when you shoot the sponge with a holy water arrow, eh? ;)
Now you have a holy sponge - it's what I've always wanted! :cheeky: Anyways, you need the holy sponge for the next part (getting the sword).
Go back into the crypts and head into the hallway with the boarded up door. If you remember the note next to the dead hammerite, he mentioned a secret button around here. Look for a mummy texture which looks different from the others.
On the upper right, in the center, you should see one whose head faces the wrong way. I believe that a golden item can also be grabbed from this shelf. Anyways, rope arrow up there and look around for a "loose stone" Move the stone to reveal a hidden button - push the button. This moves one of the stone coffins along the outside of the "well" (big drop with the tower thing in the middle). Look down at the coffin shelves for one that has "sunk" into the floor. It should be straight across from the upper hall doorway. Use a rope arrow to get down to this shelf and check the far wall. There is a hidden door at the back. Open it and climb down the ladder.
You will end up in a small cave which heads in two directions. To the left is the Riddler's Tomb. To the right is the Alpha Chamber where you will find the sword in the stone.
If you want to figure out the next part on your own, stop reading now.
If you get stuck . . .
To get the sword, throw the sponge at it - the holy water will break the stone free (read the book about legendary items to understand why).
A creepy ghost appears behind you, so be careful!
Yay! Now you have a holy sword!
In the Riddler's Tomb, read the 2nd floor plaque. It tells you all riddles for the tomb.
First you need to get down. Although you can jump, there is an easier way. Walk around the outside and listen carefully. A sound effect should play when you get near one pillar. Look around on the pillar to find a lever which opens up a trap door. Use the trap door to go down.
Pick up the water arrow and fire arrow. Remember what the plaque said about flames and tears?
Look for a flame . . . like the one on that torch.
Douse the torch to open a secret panel.
Now shoot the teardrop shaped thing with the fire arrow.
One of the statues will move back allowing you to get up a little higher.
Ever seen Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade? This next puzzle is a test of faith.
Just walk out into the empty air and you can cross to the second passage. Now save your game.
Avoid the black ground - hop between the white marble or else gravity will get back at you for thwarting it earlier! :ebil: If you want to know what I mean, just try walking straight across the room - I warned you!
Now you've got the Riddler's Treasure trove and you can head back out again.
For the vault . . .
Go back to the church and up the elevator to the hall with pictures. Read the plaque under the death statue. This is suppose to give you a hint on how to enter the vault.
Apparently, you need to use a water arrow on the baby picture (in the elevator shaft) and a fire arrow on the death picture. Then you return to the statue to discover a secret floor trap has opened.
However, I decided that would take too long.
An easier way (for me) was just to blast the floor in front of the statue with two fire arrows. You get plenty and it only wastes one extra. The trap door should pop right open.
Go down the shaft and open the vault (you have the manual right :) ) Apparently, there has been a minor earthquake and the poor vault has reset to the default code!
If you are feeling lazy, that code is:
.
.
.
1234 :cheeky:
Inside the vault is a second vault. This vault must be accessed by lining up the eight switches. There is a note somewhere about looking to the stars for help. This means, look at the dragon picture to figure out how you need to align the switch knobs. It is a little hard to figure out though.
For a spoiler image, check for a post by Eshaktaar on page five of this thread.
It really helps. Once inside you will get a crooked pole (among other things) which can be used to open the attic hatches (although you mentioned already getting to the attic, so I'm a little confused about that.) Anyways, use this pole to get into the ceiling hatch in the bedroom next to the boarded-up room. In there you will find a switch to open a secret passage into the boarded up room and I believe this is also where you find the library safe key.
In the boardedup room you can find another secret passage to the yellow gemstone.
In the attic (the second one) you should be able to get the red gemstone.
In the coldstorage room you will find the blue gemstone. The key to the coldstorage room is in the dumbwaiter shaft.
Hope that helps!
don't worry, you'll come back that way after you meet the burricks, if you're on track you won't have to worry, you can't miss them.
You may think you are almost done, but you are in for a surprise :cheeky:
If you have completed all the major objectives, head for the exit.
Eshaktaar still has some surprises in store for Garrett - you aren't going to get away so easily!
Sorry about being so mysterious, but once you get to the sewers the next few steps are pretty self-explanitory. Saying anymore would just ruin the surprise ;)
One little hint though . . .
When you suspect immient burrick attack (believe me, you'll know when it's time), get out that purple horn of yours. You'll need it quickly!
Cool,
I got the pole and I think I'm done in the church area. How do I get out? I went to the exit and the metal gate bars my way.
Sorry for being so late, but I've been playing some other games the last 4-5 months.
Anyway....
Started playing this one late last night (about 1am), and couldn't let go until I was done at about 9:30am this morning. There was this one word that kept creeping into my brain as I played Ominous Bequest:
Rewarding
Fantastic mission; arcitecture, texture, flow, puzzles, secrets, stuff to read, bonus/optional stuff, etc
My favorite mix, I think. Big mansion with a splash of intrigue and just a drop of
undeads and hammers
Okay, I tried playing this one last night, since I heard it would rock. But unfortunatelly, I've given up. I just can't seem to proceed any further, I'm still running around on the outside, looking for either a way in, or that darn blackjack. I chose to play on Normal, since I was mostly looking to just experience the mission, and not get some über-grand challange. But I guess when you get stuck that early, you kinda lose the will to continue.
It sounds like a really good mission, but if someone could just give me some hints on how to go past the starting area, I would be grateful. :erm:
