Although the mission is ghoster-friendly, there's two events that prevent it from being completely ghostable:
- Cutting the cable to turn off the electricity in the showroom violates the "no property damage" rule.
- Blowing the horn in the first trap alerts the burricks. There's no way around this.
The sequel will be completely ghostable (although not easily ;)). I've already got two ghosting-experienced beta testers who will make sure of this :)
I guess the discovered bodies are indeed caused by the fallen haunts seeing each other. Kadar himself (at the altar) is completely blind and deaf, so it can't come from him.
The sound effect used in the attic is from Thief 1/Gold (tension1.wav). I can't remember where it was used originally, though.

Oh, no! Probably sky forbid me finish your excellent mission!
Portcullis opens when all objectives complete, right? But Benny with his bottle of wine is DEAD and this objective is incomplete (red circle on objective). I killed him accidentally somewhere in the middle of mission.
So, is this dead end?
Eshaktaar on 5/5/2004 at 12:31
No, the objective concerning Benny is optional. The same goes for finding all diary parts.
What other objectives haven't you finished?
salass00 on 5/5/2004 at 12:36
@Vitali Kram
:p AFAIR the Benny objective was optional, so reasonably it shouldn't have an effect on completing the mission.
Vitali Kram on 5/5/2004 at 15:19
I already complete all objectives except :
-o- dont kill,
-o- find another way,
-x- Benny-wine.
But portcullis is still tight closed...
Eshaktaar on 5/5/2004 at 15:29
Damn, that looks like you've encountered a bug that hasn't shown up until now: The portcullis should indeed be open. Do you remember Garrett saying "the only thing left for me to do is to get out of here" when you completed the last required objective? That should've triggered the exit.
If you have a former savegame before you completed all the required objectives, try restarting from there. Please tell me which version you are playing (2.0b, 3.0). Maybe I can provide you with a savegame so you can continue from this spot.
Vitali Kram on 6/5/2004 at 12:11
I'm not sure about version -- seems to me -- 2.0b.
The only comment of Garret regarding to the end of mission was near closed portcullis something like "I'll return here latter".
When I complite last objective (collect all part of diary) Garret say nothing.
Ok, if this is bug then nevermind. It is almost end of mission and I not very upset about not finished mission.
Great mission! Thanks, Eshaktaar. ;)

The diary objective is an optional one, thus Garrett should have said the phrase before that. Seems to be a freak bug from the Dark Engine that happens once in a thousand (or so). Sorry about that.
Although it might seem like it, you're not quite at the end of the mission ;)
I've put a savegame online: (
http://mypage.bluewin.ch/thonr/temp/quick.zip) Get it here (730 KB). If you want to use it, you can unzip the file and copy it into the SAVES folder of your Thief 2 directory (make a copy of your own quick.sav, first). Hopefully, it works.
This quicksave places you right in the front of the exit (on Expert) with all objectives checked (and you've got the new sword, too).

Thanks, Eshaktaar. Now weekend midnight is mine.

By the builder this is embarrassing. But . . . I still can't get the most obvious secret in the whole taffing mission! When you head out of the family crypt, there is a very obvious secret door right in front of your face at one point, when you turn left when you're facing it you see the 3 skulls, and I can't for the life of my find the secret switch to operate this door! I need to be told exactly where the taffing thing is.
