You only need to do it on one side. You might need those arrows later...

I have started to play "Ominous Bequest" and because I was stuck in the catacombs, I have found a walkthrough for it. This walkthrougs says something about an apparations on a special place. It should appear suddenly when I reach a special place.
I think I'm on this place, but no apparation does appear.
Maybe this happens because I did not do all in that way as it was said in the walkthrough. The walkthrough says I have to wet the sponge. Later I should dive it in holy water. Well I have not done this. I went into the catacombs with the sponge, but I have not weten it and I did not use holy water on it. Can this be the reason for not appearing of the apparation? I have also tried to wet the sponge after I was in that section. (I returned to the fountain.) The sponge changes to a "Nasser Schwamm" (wet sponge). However when I shoot a holy water arrow at it nothing happens. Should it change a second time?

That you can't make the wet sponge holy sounds like a rare bug to me. It should be possible to "holify" the sponge no matter if it's wet or not. Have you tried throwing the sponge at a burning torch in order to make it dry and shoot another holy arrow at it?
If you mean the place where there's a sword stuck in an altar, you won't see the apparition until you've freed the sword. If you're not playing on expert, there's a vial of holy water (in the priest's chamber) you can use when you're in the altar room and then shoot a holy water arrow directly at the sword. On expert you need the holy sponge.

So I'm almost finished with the mission, and now I'm stuck...literally.
So I'm deep into the crypt, past the hall with all the traps and I've got the dead hammer's body, assuming that's what the tile on the floor ahead is asking for. Although I think I went the wrong way with the tile's instructions. I put a rock on one of the pedestals and the brother's body on the other, that opened the gate. Apparently that's not the way to go... I quick saved once I got past the gate and for reasons I don't even remember anymore I had to reload. But now when I load the gate closes behind me! It seems the stupid hammer's body sunk into the pedestal and no longer holds it down! Now I'm stuck in this room between a gate I can't control and a door I can't open.
I don't really want any tips on how to finish, but is there any way out of this situation? That quicksave is the only saved game I have. I thought there might be a dromed trick or command that might get me out of it, but I'm not very good with dromed and OB doesn't seem to want to load into it anyway.
Anybody?

DromEd is the only way out here, I'm afraid. Here's what you need to do:
If you can start DromEd in DarkLoader while OB is installed and it does load the right mission, you're ready to go. If this doesn't work, you can start DromEd separately and load miss20.mis.
Enter game mode by pressing alt-g, then load the save game where you're trapped.
Press SHIFT + Q to enter "fly mode", then press CTRL + P and type "physics" (without quotes) into the console. Now you can fly right through the closed gate (take care not to fly into walls). Then you can press CTRL + P and enter "physics" again and save the game, which should load OK when you start the game the regular way.
I hope that helps, and sorry about that bug!

Erm, you're in a mighty tight spot. Normally the body will drop again and depress the pressure plate, but not here . . .
What have you done so far? It sounds like you're going to need a new save file. :(
Edit: or not, the man himself came to help. :):thumb:

Wow, I am IMPRESSED! God damn I love the Thief community!!
Thanks for the help. That was an amazing mission by the way, it really sucked me in.

Well I have met a situation not really similare to the one you have described on this place:
At first I have found the gate. I have read the stone-message (in German: "Nur ein Angebot von totem Fleisch verschafft Zutritt zu meinem Arbeitszimmer". In English somewhat like "Only an offer of dead meat will give acces to my working-room."). Although the message is behind the gate I could read it from outside. So I believed this is the way to open the gate. So I took the dead Hammerite (this was hard with the traps!) and I dropped him on the left of the pedestals. However the corpse sunk into the ground so that it was gone, and it was no more frobable because no more visible.
Then I experimented and found out that all the ground here is somewhat strange - it doesn't hold objects. Also when I drop a key here it is lost.
Strange thing.
Is there anything special on this floor? Does DromEd offer an ability to make a floor transparent against objects?
Besides, Omnious Bequest (German Title: Ominöse Erbschaft) is a very good mission!
A question: How did you create the haunt-sound in the room where no haunt is? (I mean in the room after the way with the "woodsticks" before it where we reach the tower that leads downwards; the room where we rope arrow to pull a lever.)
