i´ll see if i make another mission, because working with Dromed is so
dull and frustrating. :-(
Well you really have to have a passion for designing the mission. Dromed has it's quirks, but for the most part it runs pretty good and there is almost always a way to make things happen.
I knew it wasn't tested,
the physical dimensions of the railing, the broken window set to the default window size, etc.
I usually don't complain about an author's first release, but with beta testing those little bugs would have been cleared up. I'm not saying I am not enjoying the FM, even though I have only been in it for two minutes, but mayby with the compressed audio file the author could fix the bugs and rerelease the FM after some beta testing. :)
Edit: I made an mp3 format down to 1.5MB with no noticeable loss in quality.

It's a bad idea to remove it from the database. This is the first lesson I learned after publishing an untested mission, and it was a good lesson.
I agree with BT. The author's gotta learn.
FM Authors:
I don't care how many times you've run through your mission yourself. You've got to have a few other people test it for you. I've tested many a mission by some very fine Dromeders and have NEVER seen one that was without at least a few troublesome bits. Take the extra time, it's always worth it!
Having said that, congrats on your first release. We really want you to make a great mission and many more after that!

Says someone who doesn't have to worry about the bandwidth. Yes, this isn't a huge mission, but when 200 people all pile on to grab 40MB, it adds up. And now the author has sent an update in which he paid no attention whatsoever to the size of the audio file, even though I asked that he address it and Yandros sent him a nice offer of assistance.

Jason, I'll upload just the music file to you if you'd like, and you can replace it in the ZIP he sent you, just let me know. He emailed me saying he had upgraded some of the textures but didn't know how to do the music thing. He also said that he didn't credit the music because it was from Thief 1, but I don't recall ever hearing it and can't believe LGS would have had an ambient loop that's almost 5 minutes long. Especially since the largest WAV file in the TG snd.crf is only 400k.

FYI,
The ambient music is from Thief: Deadly Shadows. Its the music that underscores the "Widow's Mansion" mission.

Well, do feel free to send it to me, but in general I think it's the author's business to poke around their mission and I try to stay out of it. Especially since yet again I have upgraded my computer and haven't managed to get the Thief games reinstalled and running.
