So much action and violence! What is this, some sort of dumbed down Thief-wannabe for console kids with attention span of a gnat? What happened to pure stealth?! :nono:
(Seriously though, it looks amazing, especially lighting. I can't wait to play! I only hope you won't make Garrett unleash hell on the world he saved with such dedication in the original trilogy. :p )
Haha. Well, no promises :ebil:. Regarding gameplay, I want to make sure the player can play the entire mission the way they want. If you want to go on a rampage, I want to make sure the mission is able and fun for those who want to play that way (although that is definitely not the focus). If you want to purely stealth and/or explore, you can. If you do, I want to make sure it's worth it and the player is rewarded. I'm trying to design in a way where certain situations can be approached in different ways. For example, let's say you want to go unseen into a difficult area and fail. If you want to try a different approach, either violently or perhaps try a different method of entry, there should be options.
It's an interesting balancing act but hopefully it all comes together and people have and share their own experiences unique to the way they played.
As far as the story goes, well, I don't want to give much away but Garrett sees an opportunity to make some loot. It's an original concept and I'm pretty excited about it. :joke: In all seriousness, Garrett is my favorite game character and I love the opportunity to explore his actions and motives. Trying to crack into his defenses and really find out what makes him tick, what his fears are and what he wants to accomplish is exciting for me. Hopefully I get some of those discoveries across in this mission.

Sounds great to me. Just don't repeat that on "Thief IV Anticipation" subforum :p

That also sounds good, even if I don't necessarily agree with your interpretation of the character :)

This looks stunning. It's just beyond belief what the most talented fan mission builders are able to do with this old engine. Really looking forward to this. Played the first few minutes of Hipbreaker's ECLIPSE and felt it had the best atmosphere of any horror PC game ever, be it fan made or professional. I'm really looking forward to BREAKING THE STONE. :thumb:

It's probably time we started cracking the whip a bit - he's been slacking lately. :)
