Profane Ascension has some truly unique moments which I appreciated very much. I also like the architecture, the limited loot, the wonderful colors, the use of textures, and some of the darkest shadows you'll find anywhere. If an undead mission can feel "real", this one did.
Major kudos to Tomi for fine work.
My favorite moment: the one that made me come up out of my chair (you know which one I mean).

Great mission. I'm trying to follow Lacatar's instructions but I'm really stuck.
I have the skull and the moon orb from the top of the cathedral
but what do I do now? Been down in the catacombs but can't figure out what to do. In the area where the fountain is which has 6 doors around it, 2 of them cannot be unlocked. Is there a key available?
Having fun with this one!

Once you have
the moon orb, you can get kill the guy up standing behind the altar in the church.
My husband made that post. But he didn't tell you about the part where he came up out of his chair AND SCREAMED!!! I was already up out of the chair and ready, and still I screamed. Husband had saved just before going there, so he played that one part over and over 6 or 7 times. It was GREAT!!! Ooooh.

I hope that my mission and
the screaming lady
hasn't killed anyone yet! :ebil:
I was seriously thinking of deleting the whole thing at first, because even I found it a bit scary! Every single betatester mentioned that place and most of them said something like [insert a random swear word here] - I nearly had a heart attack! (sluggs's comments were the funniest though, ha ha!)... then I remembered the 'Who Are You?' thread here on TTLG and all the 70+ taffers - I hope they're all still here with us!! :erm:

Ahahahaaa. You got me. Here I am carefully picking up some already dead bodies to stack neatly out of the way, when
One suddenly jumps up and kills me! Camoflage zombie fu,
as Joe Bob would say. Hehe, good one.

getting the doctor bill for the arythmia I've developed. Its been over an hour since I finally finished (A big thanks to Ffox for his walkthrough) and my heart still feels a little.. weird.. :wot: I give this mission a ten! :thumb: Now I feel bad for never having finished Deadly Darkness ver 1. :o Thanks for redoing this mission Tomi, I really enjoyed playing it.

lol :erg: I hope that no one got scared too badly!!
Sap'em - Deadly Darkness wasn't nearly as good as Profane Ascension in my opinion, ShadowWolf421 must be the only person on earth who actually liked that! :p I just released it even though it wasn't what I wanted it to be, I wasn't very pleased at all to be honest. The engine limits were killing me and the mission and I was getting sick of DromEd already!
I just finished Profane Ascension for the first time (from start to finish without cheating!) and I quite enjoyed it actually - that's something that I thought that would never happen!
Here's a little question for all of you who can still remember PA, I hope that someone could answer this because I'd like to know really. I can't answer this because I haven't played that many other FMs, but... How long did it take from you to finish PA? Was it too long or too short (or something between) compared to some other FMs?
And how about the difficulty level? It's impossible of me to answer that, because I know where all the AIs and traps (etc) are and I know how they work/move... I'd say that PA is pretty easy, but then again, I might be completely wrong!
:)

Tomi- I loved Deadly Darkness, too so add me to the list! :D
PA had more to do and was much more ambitious, but you just gotta love luring haunts to the air mage near the starting point! (Plus the old TG textures gave it a very spooky feel)
