I think i've stuffed this level. I have completed every single objective except for the "find out what happened to the other villages" one and so it's really annoying me because I don't know what else to do. Oh, and does anyone else's game freeze if they shoot a hiss with a holy water arrow? I've been having some other glitches with the original so I think it's just my version. Like, some mechanists and stuff dont have weapons and can't do damage and I can gas the guy with a gas mask on the "kidnapping" level but I aint complaining.

I think the objective to "find out what happened to the other villagers" ticks off when you read a book in the house where you found you blackjack. It should be on a counter in a side room. :)
I don't think I've ever shot a hissie with a holy water arrow, so I can't comment on that problem. They're easy to blackjack, so that's what I usually do. :)

I have almost finished T2 Ranstall Keep but have only found three of the four secrets
I have
the sword and the items from the shallow pool of water, and I forget which other one
so what have I missed?

I have 5 secrets listed for the T2 version of Ranstall Keep, not 4.
#1 - In town, in a building close to the Weapons Shop, there's a lever on the wall in the bedroom that lowers a ladder. Up above is a secret gaming room.
#2 - Secret door to the sword.
#3 - Inside the glade in the middle of the Keep, in the area you access by putting a rock on a pressure plate, there's a switch on one of the upper levels that lowers a glass floor and allows you access to some platforms in a void (of sorts), where you find a rope arrow and some loot. (I'm not sure exactly what triggers the "found secret" message in this area.
#4 - In the pool, there's a raised section of floor. There's a button on one side that opens a small hatch on the other side.
#5 - In the courtyard with the stream, go to the NE corner and you'll find a small lever on the wall that opens a secret door.

I have the first four of the five that you list, but my "stats" at completion of the mission still say 3 out of 4. Perhaps it makes a difference that I am playing on the n00by level of difficulty?
No matter, just wanna make sure I didn't miss anything good, I will check out that last area.
GREAT mission, though, one of my favorites for T2.

I just got done playing Ranstall Keep (T2 Version). First of all, I loved it!! What a great mission!!
But I found a weird glitch, and I was wondering if anyone else had found it too.
When you pick up a ladder, you can't throw it anymore, you just try to use it, but if you drop it (with the 'r' key), it will be suspended in air. Then, you can climb it where it sits, and if you grab it while you're in midair, you can fly!!!
Of course, you will be climbing the ladder (now in your inventory), so you'll go climbing speed, except if you try to go underwater (which you can't, you'll just surface): in that case you'll go normal speed.
To end the flying effect, just land and you'll start walking again.
Has anyone else found this weird glitch?

Hey, that sounds cool!
I've got to try that!

That happens to me in real life. It's what makes my job as a window washer so much fun!

This sounds similar to the bug in Kidnap with Brother Kavador's diary.

You could pick the diary up (it was one of the semi-secret objectives in the mission), but unlike other quest items, you could also drop it.
As the item was never made to be dropped, it didn't have all its physics properties included, so it would hang in midair.
But having a
ladder that hangs in midair...that opens whole new worlds of possibilities.

Heh, heh, heh. Those cursed hissies never see it coming when I blackjack them from the air!!! Mwuhahahaha!!
Also, it makes getting some loot a whole lot easier.
