Outstanding FM !!! I had several times expression "this must be the end of mission" but every time this was not...
Great place to explore. Still playing...
EDIT: finished. Incredible mission, really incredible. I thought the city was end, but no. Big prison place. Ok, let take the key and back to house... NO !! - new part of the mine area. It was great experience to explore such a great mission. Thanks a lot jesps !!! I hope this is not your last FM ....

I've spent an hour running round the mine - please get me out of here!!
I've found one locked door down here, possibly two if they're different doors. One was protected
by a large spider. I've found 2 live thieves.
The light's a little difficult so probably I'm missing something obvious.
Well its always the way when you post so never mind, I've progressed!
Finished!
I'll ditto all the praise - I really enjoyed it very much. Very impressive first fm. Only minor points would be some of the lighting at the beginning which was a bit disconcerting till I got used to it, and a couple of locked doors where the sound was either missing or I couldn't hear it. I'll also echo MrMunkeepants re: proofreading. :) Either I'm getting used to them which I doubt or the undead bits were very well done. Creepy enough for me but also avoidable and dealable with. Not in your face.Would have liked a rope arrow or two and something to find - perhaps the next one?
I'd still like to get in the shop with the gears and so am still looking for the mysterious scaffold ladder. I think I haven't unlocked the locked doors in the mine either yet. But I will be playing this one again.

I'm in the cave with water... how do I go from there?
I'm stuck in the same place but unlike clearing I have not been able to find the "other way." After 15 minutes of wandering around in the cave among the spiders I've killed I give up. Would someone please tell me what to do to continue.

Are you still stuck here glwhalen? I think I know where you are but can't recall precisely the way onwards. I'll have a look later if nobody else comes forward. I thought originally you meant
If you are in the pool at the foot of the waterfall then there is a difficult climb and jump up some rocks at one side and then a jump for a rope hanging from the centre of the roof.
but I think you mean earlier than that.

fidcal,
Thanks, but I'm talking about earlier right near the start of the mission. I've climbed into the cave near the boat, killed a couple of spiders, and since then I've been wondering aimlessly around in the cave and in the pool (with stone diving board :) ).
I have no idea where or how to advance at this point.
EDIT: I am a bonehead. I found what I needed. Can't believe I missed
the cave entrance beside the dead body in the area beyond the boat. I was so focused on the cave I was in I didn't think to explore the exterior more closely
OK I GIVE UP HOW DO I OPEN BENNETS CELL THE NOTE IN THE CELL SAID THE DOOR IS STUCK THANKS

Yonty:
You need
the torture chamber key
if I remember it's
in the officers quarters or barracks
glwhalen:
go past the point where the
stone diving board is on your left. You should eventually come to a green river with a lift opposite. The lift is a bit of a diversion - worth a visit, but the way out is to go left along the river past a machine thing and take the last exit right.
I’ve just got round to playing this mission and really enjoyed it. Congratulations to jesps – a brilliant first mission.
But I’ve got a few questions (playing on expert).
(a) I finished with both secrets but missing 640 loot. Comments in earlier postings in this thread suggest that other people have also missed a similar amount. Has anyone got a lootlist? Or did anyone get much nearer the total and if so can they remember where they found any hard to spot loot?
(b) Did anyone find a rope arrow or speed potion? If so, where?
(c) In the tunnels between dropping down through the hole in the floor in one of the prison cells and coming out behind the (previously) locked gate in the catacombs you go past a broken bridge over water. Has anyone managed to get over to the other side? I think it’s too far to jump in one leap. I managed to jump onto one of the broken pillars sticking out of the water but from there was unable to jump up onto the other side. It would be easy with a rope arrow and could probably be done in one leap with a speed potion.

Well... it has been a long time since I played the mission myself:
a) I newer made a loot-list myself, but maybe I should. Anyway I remember a few of the hard to find loot items:
- a statue in the mines (before the broken bridge)
- a gemstone on top of the destroyed house near the library
- a crystal in the mines near the locked room with a spider
- some coins in the church tower
- a serpentile torc in the zombie's prison cell
Those are the ones I can think of right now.
b) Rope arrows: There are none.
Speed potion: There is one on easy in the mines after the prison
c) The player is not supposed to get over there, and there is nothing on the other side. Still it may be possible with the speed potion, newer thought about that before. :erg:
