I tried scaling that rubble many times. But either my "feet" got stuck underneath it, or I got flung back onto the ledge opposite, or I fell to my death. In the end the sheer tedium of the challenge was overwhelming. :tsktsk:

Just finished this last night and I got to say it was great especially the story and congrats for automaping everything as someone said.

Just finished the prison mission on Expert, in 1 hour and 5 minutes, with all loot found.
Nicely designed complex, and a lot of effort is put into making the place alive and convincing. I expected a more old and spooky prison, not something so modern and well maintained. Sadly this doesn't resulted in a tense or thrilling atmosphere as other prisons in FMs gave me. The complexity of the place is a strong point, however. Lots of patrolling guards, and all kinds of different rooms make it besides a prison also a police station, a training complex, and a guest accommodation. Great job realizing this, Robin :thumb: The layout and different floors are confusing, but this is where the automap and the fact that nearly every location on the map is named, come in handy.
Some points of criticism are the lack of any secrets, again the ease (for me, that is) of finding all loot, and the fact that the speech by the keeper is soo soft in comparison with Garrett's that I was unable to understand a thing of what he said :erg: I assume that he was the one who returned the Master Switch key to the Main office ? Also, actually seeing some additional prisoners would've been welcome. On the other hand, the story development is again top notch!
Despite some letdowns this is still a fine prison mission, with a convincing and detailled layout, good story progressing, and some interesting objectives to complete. Let's head over to Mission 3.

Subtitles for the English version are available, but they are off by default. They can be enabled after Darkloader/GarrettLoader has installed the mission.
If you use GarrettLoader, go to Thief2\books\english and use the two batch files to toggle the subtitles.
Darkloader moves things around a bit and the batch files go missing. Download them from (
http://catmanofiowa.com/RSoul/sagh/sagh_subtitles.zip) here and put them in Thief2\books\ (there is no 'english' folder).
If you want English subtitles in the movies, download this:

:thumb:ABOUT FRIGGING TIME! I'm deaf and I tend to get frustrated about what they are saying. Would like a Patch to get all Subtitles working for T2 ... thanks!

Just bring it up in your inventory, highlight the letter and right click.

BTW, I really enjoyed these mission sets.
The forest mansion was beautiful, and I am going to play it again because I caught up too soon with someone going over the good ol' days and it brought me to a new task.
I saw a portion from a residence inT1's Cathedral mission and LOTP.
After I finished the missions on Normal, I decided to fly around the LOTP set in Dromed and saw someone's puppy with measles.
I am now going to play in Expert. I can hardly wait to get back to that mansion.
Thanks R. Soul
Really fun mission. :D  :thumb:

Just to be clear,
the letter isn't in the evidence locker. It's with
Sarringham's chief guard. Clue for his whereabouts:
He's a guest, and they ought to treat him well.Complete answer:
The letter's in the Main Guest Room, check your map Quote Posted by OldMeat

No. If he knew anything about
the key, he would have just given it to you. It had been genuinely lost, and someone else found it at put it back..
