This is a very nice mission, Lost Soul. Really glad to see another one from you. I enjoyed the city section; lots of fun gameplay there in a really small area. And it was a lot of fun to be able to totally wail on the undead for a change. That alone was worth the price of admission (which, admittedly, was free :erm: but even so). I really liked the skybox too. And Lucy looks so sweet. I bet you really miss her. Very sorry but I'm glad you put her picture in there. Anyway, thanks for a very enjoyable mission.

Hello All again. I cannot say how happy it makes me feel to read that people are enjoying my mission.
It is going to be one of my best Christmas presents this year.
To answer some questions:
Why there is so much fire power?
I just lost track of how much I had put into the mission. Was always my intention to give enough to be able to wade into the undead with righteousness.
@ maga.
Sorry to read that you get a crashout at that point in the mission, I did not have a problem when I did the building and testing of the FM. I don’t know what would cause it to happen. Have you tried to stack boxes instead of using a rope arrow? I planned it so that you could do both. And yes there is something more than loot in there, there are three keys inside.
@Tannar.
Yes Lucy was a character and I do miss her, thanks for the mention. I plan to put a picy of her in all my missions, somewhere.
I need to thank a few people, without who’s help I would not have been able to finish COSL.
Big thanks to Yandros. Put me right on the “get back to were you started” objective.
Also R Soul and john9818a. answering questions that they have probably answered a thousand times before.
The whole community is a source of inspiration.

Btw. It really gives me a warm feeling to think that all you Taffers are having a good time with this mission. It makes all the work worth while. I will be doing some more.
Please do, I greatly enjoyed this one! Since you wanted to get as much feedback as possible, here are some thoughts:
* You are an extremly talented and diligent builder with DromEd, you know that? Both this one and last year`s An Old Friend are among the most detailed and impressive missions I have played.
* The Crypt of St. Lucian features even more detailed architecture than An Old Friend. Then again, it is noticably more linear. If you have enough time for your next mission, I'd like you see do one with a bit more freedom for exploring again.
* A mission in which the difficulty settings are labeled "all the same" in the menu gives off a bad first impression. My suggestion is, implement two optional objectives, but don't spend too much time on that. Maybe add loot goals, or prevent the player from killing of the guardsmen, or require the player to ghost the mission on expert difficulty.
* I was puzzled by the marked crate in the shop. I tried shooting it with fire arrows, but nothing happened. After reading your comment here, I realized you did run out of time figuring out a way to implement an exploding footlocker. If you could add that trap like you originally planned and release it in a new version, that'd be swell. Maybe as an alternative to having it blow up in his face, you could allow the player to shoot it with a fire arrow or blow it up with other devices.
* There more than enough weapons in the mission to strike at the undead with the wrath of the righteous. Perhaps reduce the amount of fire arrows, water arrows and mines the player can retrieve from the shop, otherwise they don't feel like a thread anymore. I only used the explosive device, a noisemaker arrow and a fire arrow to kill all the undead in the lowest part of the crypt. After the noisemaker had made them approach the device, a single explosion blew them to bits. One severed head even landed atop the head of the statue near the Hammer artifact. After that glorious mess, the remaining undead on the way back to the ground were hardly a challenge anymore.
* I'm sorry your dog died. Honoring her legacy by putting her in all of your missions is a great idea. I was a bit confused when I saw the image, because I didn't understand why an obviously photgraphed, modern day picture of a dog was placed in a crypt.

Thanks for that <Username>, much appreciated. I will be implementing some of the things you have mentioned in your review. Such as the “All the same” thing, which I agree with entirely. I do need to brush up on the technical side of things, at this time my knowledge is quite limited but getting bigger. Also I should complete all the design ideas that I put in, such as the lock box that should explode. As for putting a tribute to Lucy in all my missions, I was thinking more of a reference or just a picture. Not as in this one which is more of a shrine. I thought Crypt, shrine, not so out of place.
The upshot is, my rule of thumb, whether a mission is technically complex or basic, if it is enjoyed it’s a winner. For my part, with feedback like yours and others, things can only get better.
All the best and thanks again and most importantly have a Happy Taffy Christmas.

I have a crypt gate key /crypt key / inner crypt 2. Do I need to find inner crypt 3 to get in. the key can only open one of the lock?
Tannar on 23/12/2009 at 07:20
You need to find inner crypt key 1. Then the two inner crypt keys should open the locks but each one works on a specific lock.

Thanks just finish the game. I thought the one with the 1 is the one key!.
Thank Lost Soul for the game really enjoyed especially the heaps of arsenal which is a real bonus :-))

Like some who've already commented, I am not a fan of undead missions. Normally, I avoid them for that reason alone.
Inline Image:
http://catmanofiowa.com/cps/ted/tedflee.gifI'm glad I decided to give this a try. A worthy addition to the FM family.

I don't think I've ever blown up that many zombies at once and for that alone you deserve a compliment :thumb:

Terrific mission, Lost Soul :thumb: - lots of clever design (& rope-arrowing :D ) packed into a compact space. (Also thoroughly enjoyed going postal on the zombies for once!) Really hope you keep designing.
And thanx, vexd; they were the 2 things I missed - went from 600 short to just 20 short.
