When in the area of the fire lady, my game either crashes to desktop or locks up completely. Anybody having the same problem?? Any help appreciated

Yes, I had a few crashes to desktop around those hot gals too. Really impressed me. The lookers are usually all show and no ... you know. Anyhow, I rebooted and tried again and managed to get through with plenty of quicksaves.

I have tested the Night Falcon very often, the betatester tested it very often, no crashes, no slowdowns. The german Version was released some weeks earlier than the english Version. No german player mentored crashes or slowdowns. It just runs fine. The english Version was released and look at the threads here: crashes and slowdowns. And I have no idea what to do to fix it, it just runs fine on my both Computers.
I will be honest, after the Night Falcon, I don't wanted to release the curse of the falcon in english, I was afraid, that the same thing will happed as by the Night Falcon. If Dinksmallwood and Nightwalker wouldn't have e-mailed me several times, I woundn't have released an english version. The Curse of the Falcon runs fine during all the tests, it was released in german over a month earlier. No crashes, no problems in the german forums. And now look in the thread here: crashes, again. I don't know why it is so and I can't fix bugs that I don't have. I will release an update for the Night Falcon, it runs fine, but....
The curse of the falcon is my last mission. I won't release any new mission, it's too sad to read about crashes, that I can't comprehend. :(

I hope you wont give up just because of the crashes - your FMs are just too good. I had one crash, once. After that I always play on a fresh re-boot, and havent had any problems since.
Give up for family reasons, other interests, but please, not just because some people have a bit of inconvenience. Besides - I cant wait to see what the next new variety of Burrick you come up with will be!
Anther approach to the crashing problem - if its only English players that have the problem, is it the translated mission, or something in the in the Dark engine. Could someone who is bilingual try both versions? Run an english translation on a German installation and see what happens? and an English player with problems, try runing the German version? It might help identify the issue.

I have the german and the english version of Thief II - and I have tested the night falcon with both versions of the game.

Let me clarify something, Chistine and everyone else too. I have an old system by today's standards. A PIII 450Mhz, GeForce 1 SDR, 384Mb. I'd expect this crashing to be related to my old hardware more than your missions. In fact, I'm having problems today playing Apache's old T1 Multi-Mission Pack Hunt for Montrose too. Plus I did manage to get through all these problems. No wonder the game developers would rather make their stuff for consoles that don't have all these problems associated with variations of PC hardware.

Judging from the number of comments here, Christine, the crashes aren't happening to that many people and we've ALL enjoyed playing your missions. Please don't give up making these wonderful missions because of such a minor problem. This sort of thing can happen with any mission and I'm sure any player would put up with a crash or two to keep seeing more of your work. I, personally, have never had a crash in one of your missions and you know I've played them all quite a few times.

No crashes here, Christine...I have reviews of your campaigns in progress, so I've been playing them (a lot!) with no problems whatsoever. :thumb:

No crashes , not even a glitch . This Fm was your best yet . I especially liked the switch from the very well crafted town scene to those nasty vampire babes ! :ebil: The sound in the church was especially well done . :thumb:

I experienced the crashing issue as well which I think is related to the fire effect surrounding the succubi since it only happened when they were onscreen. I seem to recall having a similar crashing problem with one of the AI (the vampires?) in your "Brotherhood of the Falcon" mission. In both missions, though, I kept restarting since I really enjoyed the missions and wanted to finish. Perhaps not using the fire effect in future missions will eliminate the problem.
