Thank you very much every one
Your nice messages makes me very happy.
It is a big reward for me
I've finished your mission yesterday Gaetane and I totally agree with all those enthusiastic responses, you deserve this :D The Den is really an outstanding mission. In my opinion the best part of the L'Arsene series and the best fanmission you created until now :thumb:
The idea with the 5 senses is very well thought and developed. It makes the Fortress more then just a building to explore and robbing it from all it's valuables.
Inside the fortress you created a marvelous work of art. All those tapestries, paintings, wallpaper, the interior, it feels as walking through a museum. It gives the fortress a very medieval feel.
And those statues :wot: as if they come right out of thief 3! Very nice work, I didnt knew that was possible to create with DromED. They really scared the hell out of me when I suddenly saw them patrolling. They never caught and hurt me (thank god ) except for one situation. I was sneaking on the third floor, trying to access the library. What I didn't knew was that there was one of these stone freaks was
standing right behind the corner in the corridor.
Before i knew what happened I was lying on the floor, killed with one powerful smash. Now that almost gave a heartattack (I can still hear the echo of Garrett's scream in my ears :laff:).
The level design is also very well done. I'm wondering, did a real castle in france (or another county) stood model for this?
Your mission also has one of the most original ideas of freeing yourself out of a cell. There are more missions that put you in the same situation, with Old Comrades Old Debts
(removing rubble out of the wall to create a gap)
as best reminder.
The mission really managed to frighting me regulary with the
heartbeating sound at the Den Entrance, the voice of the fortress speaking to you, the floating eyes, the invisible monsters in the maze and finding Vinny being spearred in one of the secret rooms
:o
I found 6 secrets and 4606 loot.
You finished the story really well. I feel ashamed to say I never really completed Emilie Victor and The Korrigans :eww: so to fully understand the whole story I will certainly play them again soon.
You really amazed me with this mission Gaetane and I hope you will do again in the future. Thanks!
A question: Isn't Bourrique
supposed to attack Garrett in the den when he opens the door? He just stood there waiting for me to blackjack him :cheeky:
Yeah, i experienced something odd with Bourrique too. I went up to the locked door, couldn't lock pick it, i stood there wondering what to do, then Bourrique appeared though the door and stood there, so i killed him and used the key he had to open the door... i reloaded back but this time he noticed and attacked me

gaetane, I humbly bow before you - thank you SO much for what is undoubtedly one of the finest fan missions I have ever played!
It really does have everything Thief fans love. :thumb:
You're a taffing Genius! Thanks again. :)

OK - quickest route to the BlackJack please . . .
This looks like it would be a very fun mission - but skulking around with SuperSensitive quards x 20 that NEVER give up looking once alarmed - and me without a weapon? Not fun!

tith,
Once you get out of your cell and upstairs, walk pass the double doors and straight across into the next room until you can't go further, you'll see a man at a fireplace, your blackjack is on the left in that room

Thank you so much! I like Ghosting sometimes - but not when I'm trying to play through 90 more FMs before the end of the year!!

Gaetane, this has to rank pretty damn close to the top ten missions I've ever played -- including the OMs and T2X. It's a long time since a Thief fan mission chilled me to the marrow, but this one did the trick  -- even when I'd guessed that the 'statues' were going to be a real problem later on. (Small bug when I played -- fire arrows went straight through the one on the 2nd floor, and just made him mad! :wot: ) It was challenging, inventive, GIGANTIC, well written and beautifully made. Gameplay was captivating and the storyline strong and excellently crafted. Good job! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

tith: why so many so quickly? you won't even have time to enjoy them if the point of playing is to get to the next one!

I'm an obsessive / completist . . . But believe me, I am enjoying them - and actually I've pretty much given up the idea of finishing them all by the end of the year (a goal I set back in January)
Anyway, this is a pretty cool level alright - I can't believe I just breezed right past the room with the equipment! I was getting so frustrated wandering around the mansion with no eq.!
