I may solve this yet on my own, but I am having trouble with picking one of the locks. ----EDIT: WOW!!! about 1 minute after posing I did it! HA!
Question,I was having trouble with the advanced lock near an Anubis. Are the sayings "steady" "that should go it" and "I hate modern trends" just sort of random, or really clues? Thanks,
Bjack

I may solve this yet on my own, but I am having trouble with picking one of the locks.
I am on a landing near an Anubis and there is a gold lock on the wall next to a light switch. I try to pick it and I get "steady, steady, steady" and "That should do it" and "I hate modern trends." Well it never opens. I'm trying all 3 picks in various order. Once in a while one will not work, so I switch to another. I usually have no trouble with these types of locks, but this one is getting to me. I think I will look for a pattern for each pick and then trying to cycle through hoping to get nothing but forward unlocking. I do not know though if switching picks will reset counters and mess up this plan.
So, does anyone have some advice without giving a full spoiler? Hits? Many thanks in advance! :D
square, triangle, square, special - OK.

Hey Beltzer, how come in the mission zip you have Father Murus's sound scheme? I didn't see any Hammer ghosts in this mission o_O

Nice review, or not... I will try to take it as positive criticism :)
I'm not really an expert and do some illogical things. The bad writings
could be because my native language is not English.
About the keys, i tried not to make so many of them. But it became many
because i did not want it to be so straight forward mission.
The distant art and the houses, i had more things like trees, but dromed
did not like that. I think i'm better in making indoor areas then outdoor.
Maybe i'm not that good storyteller either, its so much to keep in the head and
then piece together, especially when it is so large. I have not thought so
much in the logical, its just a game i made in my free time :)
It should be fun to play, i don't care if the servants building is as large
as the main building. Or what happens after the game has ended, of
Aerona is gonna do rooftop acrobatics.
But i'll think of some of the stuff you said when i'm working on the next one,
i hope that is not gonna be as bad as this one. :p

This one is not "bad"! It is very good! And I don't think EmperorSteele was saying that it is bad. I agree with most of what EmperorSteele said and perhaps you could learn something from those comments for your next mission. But the difference is that I wasn't bothered by most of those things. I really enjoyed trying to figure out how to proceed and I would not have been frustrated at all if it weren't for that one mistake in the note about the library which we've already talked about.
I think the story could have been just a bit more logical but it was good enough and, honestly, I think this is your best mission so far. It is a very good mission, beautifully made and enjoyable to play. I played for over 5 hours and when I finished I still didn't want it to be over.

Never mind Beltzer. One can also be too picky! As Tannar also said: he wanted it not to be over after playing your mission and that's what's it's all about. I excpierenced and tested a few of those great missions and this definately is one of them. That's also why I played the released version last night. I could have easily skipped it and return to another betatest I'm doing right now, but I just wanted to dig in again. And about the logic: It's totally logically to me. You need to go for and backwards to get all keys and since I know my way around, its very logical. I thought the generator key was geniously planted on the wright time. I could go on, but I just want to say to you: Be proud of yourself. You did very wel.. I know I couldn't! So take it easy and enjoy all of the applause on the forum!

Tannar: You are probably right. But after reading all the encouraging comments and
then that one, i got so flabbergasted :p But its OK, some of the things just took rather
hard.
Gloria: You have PM.

Finished in about 5 hours and got just over 10K in loot. Played on expert. 5 out of
9 secrets found. I guess that is where the rest of the loot is. I did really like this one. I burned through a good portion of my weekend playing it.
Little things I would have changed (all very minor nit-picks):
1. A little more loot that has higher value. The last 1/2 hour of play was searching the
bathrooms for final loot2. Getting that huge stash of gold should have played off a lot more.
3. I would have liked to see the slot machines pick-able, or at least have a coin in the tray.
4. I do agree with the critique about the frame up of the witch. Who is going to find Taffy? The chimney sweep? :joke:
5. Moss arrows, or maybe the ability to use the slippers to be quiet. Then again I used "clicks"/foot falls to alert the thieves, so I could bjack them.
6. I might just be me, but there was at least one bedroom I had to pick a lock to get in and there was nothing inside to take or read. There was a
jewel box, but nothing inside7. The large sleeping area all draped off with the
funny note about the paintings I would have put something else in there. Maybe I missed a secret?
There were some rooms I swear would have goodies and did not. Again these may be where the missing secrets are.
Overall a really good mission. Thanks for yours and everyone that helped for your hard work. :cheeky:
