Gloria, you won't find Brian until the end of the mission.
For the guardian, you need to get the lock pick from the prison and use it to get into the Guardian of the Book of Entrance room on the first floor. Take the black book in there to the Guardian of the Entrance room on the second floor and place the book on the pedestal.
The candles are placed on the stairs in the Keeper's rooms.

This is an incredibly well done mission. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have created a walkthrough on Normal difficulty on my website if anyone needs some help. Even though it is for Normal difficulty, I still included how to find the gem. I felt that was pretty important. This is a tough mission that I bet some people could find my walkthrough helpful, hopefully...

I'm on the staircase that leads to the 2 doors to the 3rd floor, but they don't frob. How do I get into the 3rd floor the note says the head is in their rooms.

have the calling card in your inventory then you must have returned the painting. That means you must have been to the attic. pg 4or5 I find nothing more of the painting's where abouts :(
but there's no painting up there... :confused: I'm guesssing That is a candle too right?
I put Bry & Bren on 2 of 3 trays. so who/where is the third ?
I'll wait till tomarrow. It is like 6:22am for him right now :) Time for Netflix... Nighty Nite

The workshop with the gear is not really near those rooms. The storeroom you are looking for is past Shepard's room as you go from the kitchen to the chapel.

It depends on which difficulty level you are playing on. The post of mine that you quoted was regarding the Expert difficulty level. What difficulty are you playing on?
