dont give up !!! This FM is outstanding. :)
Red gem: on expert it is in south part of fortress (you need key from Keeper Larius) in one room with fireplace and guerd stands in front of it. Look into fire...

The only kitchen I've found has no servant and no fireplace, only a small stove and it can't be frobbed.
Doesn't matter though since the mission is broken for me, so it can't be completed.
CaptSyn, I think I know what you're talking about. The original map does show static. I think I picked up a map in one of the rooms. In order for you to get the key to the southern part of the fortress,
you need to look for the earth talisman after your conversation with the keeper. He gives you the eye and you use it to find the talisman right there. Then, he gives you the key. Once you have access to the southern part, you'll find the red nexus stone.
I had the same problem with getting the air talisman. I fell through the blue path a few times. When I ran through it, it seemed to work better. Although I have a problem with keeping the eye activated too long -- it can't be deactivated.
Hope this helps! :)

I'm sorry that you have problems, but the map is definitely not broken. It passed already three beta tests. Yes, it's true that the first final release has some serous bugs, but the version 1b should run fine. Maybe you are doing something wrong or something in your T2 installation was wrong?
The OMs work just fine as do other FMs, so my install is good.

Erm, you have to grab the earth talisman, not the air talisman.
I've been trying to follow hints in this thread, and there doesn't appear to be a way to get to any other talismans since the red gem is near a non-existent fireplace. I still have 3 locked doors to deal with and the 2 keys I have will not open them. Neither will the lockpicks, and bashing doesn't work either.

You have to use the Eye of Revelation.
I did. I was on the blue path and stopped for a few seconds to look around and suddenly Garrett dropped right through and died. It only happened once though, so it could be a fluke of the Dark Engine.

It depends on the difficulty settings where the nexus stones are located. Acording to your latest post, it seems that you stilll not have access to the southern fortress part. As I wrote above, use the Eye of Revelation in the keeper area and with it, locate the earth talisman.
I have scoured the keeper area with the eye of revelation and there's nothing there, but some broken walls and the keeper.

It's a pity, when you give up, because I had a lot of work to make this FM.
There's no point in playing a game that can't be completed, which is why I gave up.
As it's currently 6am and I have nothing better to do today, I'll start over and see what happens.
This is what the map looks like for me:

*Finally found the earth talisman. It blends in very well with the background, especially with the mirror causing everything to get darker. Got the key and the objective ticked off.

its a standard sheet for your personal notes. Its only a little bit "dirty"...
If you click the arrow to the right you'll see the map.

Howdy one and all. Isn't this a GREAT mission! If I haven't come right out and said this already, thank you, PsymH for creating such an awe-inspiring mission. I truly appreciate your hard work. And I agree that it's worth every challenge to complete this mission. Unbelievable!
With that in mind, I am stuck again. (So what else is new?) ;-)
I am in the lava area and need to cross the broken bridge but I have no rope arrows. I have read that I get them from inside the temple but I haven't found any temple. I am assuming the temple is in the "town" area outside the fortress but I haven't found a way to get there yet. Or is the temple the building at the very beginning of the game? If it is, then I just flat missed the rope arrows in there. So any hint or clue would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, something I forgot ... I've read a couple of comments about people falling off the blue bridge when getting the air talisman. That happened to me as well. And it's only in one place ... when you first start walking on the blue bridge, you go straight ahead, then turn right. Just before you turn left, there is a "hole" in the bridge and that's where you fall through. I tested it several times and that was the only place where it happened. But it always happened. I solved it by jumping over it. After that one spot, no more worries. Hope that helps.
Thanks in advance. You are so kind to help. This is SO fun!

Okay, the blue "hole" in the air dimension is my fault :p
StarCStar, it's sounds like you are still in mission 1. No, there is neither a temple nor rope arrows. You should notice the blue bridge parts floating in the air under the ceiling. You have to sink them down. Look for other cave entrances.
StarCStar on 6/3/2010 at 14:37
Thank you, PsymH. Apparently I have not found all of the entrances. I will look again ... more diligently this time.
Don't you just hate it when the answer is obvious and it's right there in front of you and you still miss it? LOL :D

Finally made it to mission 2. Found 2 blank readables. One is a scroll on a wall just inside the town to the right of the gate, and the other is a gold plaque to the right of a door, where a woman is sleeping and there's an hourglass on the counter.
Also, when I pick up a body, the screen shows the eye of revelation like I had used it, even though I don't have it. When I drop the body, all is normal again.
As for the map issue, pressing M is supposed to bring up the map, not the notes. There is no notes page in this FM, so yes, the map is broken.

Okay, I am guessing I broke the game as well. I have come up into the hideout from below, gone through all the rooms, found red, white, green, and blue stones. Done the time warp with green and white one, but can go no further. I did ko everybody except the two archers above the alcoves. So I am guessing I need to restart and not ko the barkeep. If someone would be so kind as to let me know where I use the blue and red stone I would appreciate it. The eye, can I use that when not in the time warp? Can it be used in both time zones to find different things?

There are four towers in the fortress, each gem is used at the very top of each tower. IIRC The blue in the tower with the area that is being used for storage, the red gem in the tower that someone is using as their quarters.
Yes the 'Eye' can be used in the real world, it's very useful. ;)
