Stuck on mission 2, been all over the map half a dozen times looking for something new, found nothing.
Read the book talking about 2 jars by a temple and a magic torch. Found the torch, but no jars. There's 2 torches on the wall, lit those with the magic torch and heard something move. Searched the map looking for it, nothing found.
Found a large gate with a lock next to it and a burrick patrolling, no way to open the gate.
Found a hole underwater with several waterfalls flowing into it but can't go down the hole.
I'm done with this one.

CaptSyn:
have you crossed the broken bridge at place where 2 burricks are patrolling ? You'll need rope arrow. Climb the rock "mountains" behind the bridge and you'll find the pyramide. There you'll use the torch.

CaptSyn: You need to calm down and stop claiming the map is broken and the mission is unplayable. You have proven to have a poor attitude and give up way to easily. I think you need to stop playing theif and play something more your level like pong. Then again you may claim pong is broken too when you can't hit the ball..lol
Listen, just slow down and look around. Take your time! If you get stuck, post and we will help. So far your just missing small obvious things. Hey it happens to all of us! Just look at the previous posts and you will see. But please lose the bad attitude, and stop claiming things don't exist. Take a break and come back if you have too. After all, we are all here to play theif, help, and have fun! :thumb::cheeky::angel:

Must say that I basically agree with
Stingm here. I lost count of how many times I felt stuck in this mission; but one of the great things about this one is that you can almost always get around being stuck by continuing to explore, reading everything & pausing to think.

You should have rope-arrows by now so you can cross the broken bridge - further on,
you'll find the pyramid (guarded by fire-breathing burricks). Just drop / use the flame on the bowls either side of the door.Quote:

I've got to agree with the 'this is buggered' assessment.
Reading this thread... "letter from pt1" - what letter? I've gotten to the ring transport - but still have no idea where this 'mirror' is and had thought I explored the whole level except that one locked stone door...
... and that's after starting over from the blue gem going "poof" and disappearing from my inventory in pt1.
Oh, and if I pick up a knockout or corpse in pt2, the 'eye' effect engages.
... and what's with the red arrows; All they seem to do is piss off the badguys.

Make sure your playing the updated version as some of those problems and others are now fixed.:thumb::angel:

PsymH:
I wonder why some players have problems (bugs) with first version and some not. I run through whole mission series including all optional objectives and secrets and no one bug. Maybe it has something with Thief version and installed scripts
PsymH on 7/3/2010 at 11:26
I think the most of those bugs are anomalies, because I can't reproduce those myself, except the behavior of the earth talisman which is now fixed in version 1b. But a disapperaing nexus stone, which is not linked with a teleport trap as the earth talisman was?
@ deathshadow: Are you sure the blue nexus stone is disappeared? If so, is it possible that you can send me a savegame?

For me, they
summoned a zombie that fought on my side. One of them even managed to kill two 'water beasts', which was handy
