I read here that you need a letter from part 1 in order to do some things in part 2, specifically, put it in a mail box, and eventually get a key to open Sagon's hiding place. I don't have the letter. Does that mean that I need to go back to part 1 so I can complete part 2, or am I just going to miss some loot?

I am enjoying this series immensely, but, regardless of the answer, I think that situation is a game play bug. I think that if you need the letter, for no other reason than to have some fun, then either it should be provided to you at the start of Part 2 or it should be an objective of Part 1.

Also, kindly tell me where to find the letter. I may go back and get it.

EDIT: I see that frobbin hood has made the same complaint 2 posts above. I guess there is safety in numbers.:)

SmithPD, Frobbin Hood:

The letter objective starts in the Library in Mission 1.

You need to look for a hidden switch. It will open a door to a small secret area containing something. It belongs to a certain keeper. Return it to him.

You should get something in return. Use it in mission 2.

If you need help, let me know.

Real sorry to hear you're having so much trouble with this one, tafferjim - haven't played version b (yet), so don't know if any locations changed, but:

Blue Gem - basement under the prison tower, it should just be sitting on a shelf in a storeroom. Use in the s-e tower (top-right on the map).

Red Gem - Use this in the s-w tower (the one in the bottom-right corner of the map) in the room immediately under the roof. Have a good look around after using it: it's not real obvious that you've 'moved'.

ok im stuck, ive got the torch, rope arrowed to the other side of river, and rope arrowed the branch in the 2nd level, Trying to jump to individual rock but the 3rd one seems impossible to jump... any trick to this

From the leftmost platform (looking at the cliff wall) I made use of a 'corner slope' in the cliff wall, climbing it with strafe-running and repeated mantling motions, so there were many platforms I didn´t use on the way up this cliff.
