Answer 1:

Look at your map and you will know where the secret area must be. Then look on top of the book shelves in that area.

Answer 2:

I don't know what items you have, but you need to shoot a rope arrow at the bridge part on the other side of the river. You will need rope arrows to climb once over there too.

I've been to the prison tower and got the eye and the key to the southern fortress, but I haven't found a map yet. Is is in this first area of the fortress?

Daisy, you need another key, a Captain's office/room key.

More info: It's on the belt of one of the guys on patrol, I think.

Thanks. I've knocked everyone out. Guess I'll go search the bodies again, but I was watching for a key. I do have a bandit leader key--I suppose that isn't it.

Daisy, the bandit leader key is the key you need. Find the suite of rooms to which it gives you access. I think the map is there. But I may be remembering incorrectly.

glwhalen - there's rope-arrows in a lockbox in the Temple, where you'll also find the 'magic' torch. Unfortunately, I can't remember exactly where the Temple is - think it's in the vicinity of the graveyard

glwhalen - one thought occurs: have you been out through the other main gate of the town (not the one you entered by)? There's a couple of guards outside it & further on there's a "natural stone stair" leading down around a clifface. I could be way off, but I think that area might be worth exploring.

And sorry if you've already been there (with no result), or it turns out to go nowhere near the temple - been a few weeks since I played this.

BTW, there's more good news - surprise, surprise, you need a key to get in the temple :p
