Thank YOU Christine- I've always been a fan of your missions and my computer was broke for over a year...When it got fixed I immediately went to Thiefmissions to get all the latest missions and played The Night Falcon first. It was just incredible and I'm glad you didn't let it die.
I'm writing up a few walkthroughs for some old missions but will be playing Curse Of the Falcon soon! :)

The Weapon Trader
Turn to the left and walk to the archway into the next courtyard. Two policemen will begin a conversation, from which you'll be able to tell that you'll have to be more cautious around the guards from this point on. As soon as you go through the archway, turn left in behind the pub and walk to the wall at the far end. There is a wood beam along the top of the wall. Shoot a rope arrow into it and climb over the wall. Make sure that you take your rope arrow with you as you will need it later on. Open the back door with your lockpicks and enter the Weapon Trader's. In the first room you'll find 2 gold candlesticks 2 X 50 (754), a mask 1 X 50 (804), a fine wine bottle 1 X 50 (854) and a goblet 1 X 15 (869). The front door key is lying on the beside table. In the shop are three swords 3 X 12 (905),two daggers 2 X 12 (929) and a cash box with gold coins 1 X 25 (954). Also you can conveniently complete your equipment with 1 noisemaker arrow, 3 broadheads, 4 moss arrows and 4 fire arrows. Walk through the archway to the front door, stop and look on the left side of the archway frame, down near the bottom, for a small switch. This opens 2 hidden safes where you'll find a gas mine, a flashmine and a gas arrow. Now leave the Weapon Dealer's and head back towards your house.
What is the meaning of...
the upside down hammers painted next to some of the doorways in the monastery?
I'm pretty sure it meant something in Calendra's Legacy or the official missions, but what does it mean in the Night Falcon?
And isn't that a picture of an eagle on the opening screen?

I'm running an AMD 1100 MHz, 384MB Ram, and ATI Radeon 9200 With 64 MB of ram and have never had any slowdown with EMT2 or The Night Falcon so I don't think it's a hardware issue. The only mission I found unplayable due to slowdown is The Trickster's Castle, but that IS because of the hardware. (Dr Dragon ran a bit slow too but was still ok to run). Might be because things are running in the background or the resolution's a bit high?
Re- the upside-down hammers. This shows that the Hammerites are a splinter organization with stricter rules/ unorthodox beliefs/ or just got fed up paying the high dues.
As for the falcon being an eagle, I have no idea LOL! Looks enough like a falcon to me! :thumb:

Sometimes a glitch occurs and things get corrupted in memory. A savegame after that point (which may be before you have noticed anything wrong) will contain that corruption, and things won't get better if you reload that save. You have to go back to an earlier one.
Slowdown seems more common with the newer big missions running on an overloaded system. In the past I have had problems with OMs on a old dodgy system (the most common manifestation was getting stuck in "run forward" mode).

The Night Falcon was buildt on a pIII, 1000mhz, 128 ram and later (as I get a new computer) on a amd athlon1800, 256 ram...
I tested it on both computers and never had slowdowns, also my betatester never had slowdowns. And we tested it realy often... I don't know, why some players have slowdowns and because I never had any slowdowns, I couldn't do anything, I'm sorry :(

Don't apologize, Christine - it's not your fault. The problem only occurs on a few PC/hardware combinations that may also have dodgy memory, slight flaws on the HD and buggy graphics/sound card drivers.
There is no way you can test on every possible hardware/software combination. If your FM is OK on most (and it is!) then :thumb:
