eh, i played it on release day and i'm now replaying it for the first time and i forgot how i did that particular job, too.

not everyone is perfect. :grr:

There's also [SPOILER]a dead woman (at least in my version) laying to the right of the stairs that you need to go down in order to access the altar. The body is laying in the dark so it may be hard to see.
You can pick the body up and carry it to the altar (a long haul!) and use the body for the blood.[/SPOILER]

and there's no need to restrict yourself to [SPOILER]human blood. The first time I played I managed to wedge myself into the altar. The Ent could see me but not attack for some reason. I put some fire arrows into him and his "blood" completed the ritual![/SPOILER]

Of course the second time I played, I realised that [SPOILER]gas mines work on Ents just as they do on anyone else. Put him to sleep, dragged the dead pagan over to the altar, and hey presto. One jacknall paw.[/SPOILER]

I absolutely crapped myself however when the [SPOILER]loud crack sound meant the ritual was complete. Thought old Treebeard had woken up, lol![/SPOILER]

I threw a mine at the base of the wall. When I entered the trap the wall jammed on it and I had all the time in the world to rope arrow up. :thumb:

I did not manage to succeed in this mission. The water, the moss and a paien body are on the altar and nothing happens.

Fire the arrows into the symbols, they will light up and a noise is heard if its done right. Then lay the body on the third and stab it with your dagger. That should complete the ritual. Hope this helps!

If you stab it then lay it on the altar, it'll work as well. That way you can stab the body in a different room so the ent doesn't hear the death yell.
