T2 FM: The Seven Shades of Mercury (Hammerite Imperium #1) - 20 May 2009 - by Yandros

Simply fantastic mission!
I loved the idea of the different teams but there should have been more "active" AIs - doing more than just patrolling. Giving the teams different abilities/ equipment was a great idea.
For my taste there were almost too many readables but the story line was great anyway. I missed hearing actual conversations. Would have preferred to overhear important stuff than reading it.
Really the only negative thing about this mission is that there wasn't more diverse AI activity and interactivity (like the Gold - Blue Ambush scene in the beginning) or some conversations.

Well that explains it, I'm in the wrong office...
I am in Dean Bangor's office. There must also be a Father Bangor's office eh? Must be nice having two offices.
I had the same thing. Searched that office for twenty minutes and I couldn't find a thing.

Not gonna happen, unless another team or the original team takes up the mantle...
I don't care how, I just want to play it. :p Maybe some day far, faaaar in the future.

thanks to Yandros I found all remaining (achievable) secrets but the second General Secret in his post.
in fact, I don't recall even finding the area it's supposed to be in. can someone give me a bigger clue?
I know the readables were setting up a bigger story, but it was confusing trying to figure out what related to the mission at hand, and when the campaign took place. sounds like pretty far in the future (of Thief) if the OMs were in the Dark Ages of pagans and heretical schisms...
one thing that would have boosted replayability, as i think someone already mentioned, would have been changing up the traps/patrol routes and barriers on different difficulties, and more scripted raids like in the basement.
one last thought for now: how were the Purples in the bell tower supposed to get down? there's only one slow fall potion for the two of them!

The
Purple Team leader uses magic. I'm sure he'd figure something out. :p
Also,
Sister Mari secret objective? Where's that? I want to turn this mission inside out!
Oh yeah, and where's the
ice bomb someone mentioned? edit: nevermind, just got to the
Grand Library, got them.

When I woke up today I decided to give this FM another try for good. When I climbed into the Cathedral I noticed that the boring architecture seen in the beginning is gone. Actually, when I got inside, I started to enjoy the mission. The Cathedral is gorgeous, very well made.
Most definitely not a turkey, however, still too difficult.

I also searched Dean Bangor's office fruitlessly for an age, aaargh.
I was playing on Hard, and once you get your gear it becomes quite easy to complete as you can skip the silver and black zones completely, get the purple icon, and leg it. I'll have to have another go on Expert and explore more. Loved the music, although it seemed to stutter a bit when switching between them.

Wow, I can't believe it! I fell in love in this FM after I reached the chapel. Knowing the fact that I hated it yesterday... The only thing I can say is that obviously the mission looks poor only in the beginning

You need to find
some equipment, keep exploring, up in the attic, at least on normal, there is some *stuff* up there. You'll run across Shivans stuff, you will get a Black Jack!
