My traditional question - does a transcript of the movies exist?
the briefing voiceover is essentially the same as mission description in darkloader
only a few words omitted for clarity and flow
there is no additional speech in the briefing or the other movies

Black icon:
Hint:
Find the small room where several Black Team members, including the leader, patrol in and out. There are a number of scrolls and a sarcophagus or two in there.
More hint:
Black = Dark
Spoil me:
Put out the torch.
The update is ready, we're just waiting on the gracious file hosts to get them ready for download.

I am downloading from Thief missions right now. Its up people! :thumb::cheeky:
Edit: I love thiefmissions.com....800+ kb a sec. I have never found any site that is faster. I'm not knocking the others, just giving a compliment.

Only why did I never get a hammer??! You let me play as a
HAMMERite and don't give me a hammer to dole out some heathen justice with (all these unbelievers aren't going to beat
themselves to death, now are they)?! OH how you tease me...
actually i did make a hammer model for use in the later missions
you can see a glimpse of it in the mission complete movie as shivan recieves his diploma, and thus, his hammer
unfortunately we'll never see it in action
unless if you add a sword for the player in the mission, but you can't really use it as it would break the rules :)

As StingM indicated, the updates are now available from Thiefmissions. I'll update links in the original post as well, but here they are:
LinksFull Version v1.1:(
http://thiefmissions.com/info.cgi?m=SevenShadesOfMercury)
No Movies v1.1:(
http://thiefmissions.com/info.cgi?m=SevenShadesOfMercuryNB)
Patch only v1.1:(
http://thiefmissions.com/info.cgi?m=SevenShadesOfMercuryPatch)
Installation instructions for the patch are included in the patch readme file.
InfoAll these changes are present in the patch and both updated ZIP files:
* The broken final secret is now accessible.
* The spell scrolls, which were all originally in the Grand Library, were not of much use since many people go to that location last. They have been relocated.
* Additionally, the Hammer Spell scrolls, which killed AI and failed the No Kill objective, were thus useless. They now knockout AI, except for those AI which are impervious to knockout.
* Finally, the ice bombs have been removed as they were causing too many problems.
These additional changes are only included in the updated ZIP files:
* About 10 book texts had formatting issues and are now fixed.
* Tannar was added to the credits in the readme.

I read the first couple of pages and did not see this so please forgive me if it is mentioned already.
Are there movies in a format other then indeo available yet ?
I play under linux and there are no indeo 5 codecs available that I could find.
Yandros on 24/5/2009 at 05:07
No, not yet. DivX/XVid encoded movies may get released soon, but they wont integrate in the game, i.e. you'll have to watch them in the media player of your choice outside of the game.
So is there nothing comparable to CCC or ffdshow for Linux?
Thelvyn on 24/5/2009 at 05:13
CCC is what ? No ffdshow apparently.
So no not that I am aware of. It is possible that I just do not know about it of course.

Man, you're quick; I just got in, finished setting up the new files and logged into the forum to check up and you'd already posted your message.

Well, it could actually be a little faster, especially the response time of the various pages. Still plenty of optimization to be done. However, you really shouldn't see any limit on download speed unless your home connection can do better than 4 or 5MB/s or the data has to cross some slow bit of the Internet. I'm not lucky enough to have anything that fast so my home connection is always maxed out even though the data has to go to Dallas and back to get to me, ten miles away.
