I'm actually upset that I cannot play this game. I can watch the movie and can choose the difficulty settings. I always choose the hardest level. When I go to load the game, it never finishes, just crashes to desktop. This is the 2nd mission that this has happened to me, and I'm discouraged that I cannot play these awesome new missions. I was reading this forum and saw people mentioning renaming the old EP.crf file to something else. I did that and the mission version was unzipped into my Thief2 folder. This did not solve the problem. Does anyone have suggestions of things I can do, like modify files or something? Thanks, I'm desperate!
Phil
PS: I installed the patch too, and no help.

it may not be the problem, but i had this happen to me a while back, crashing constantly. i reinstalled thief and all the patches from scratch and it went away.

If someone can come up with an explanation that can fix it, then I'll go with that. I'll hold off reinstalling everything and leave that as a last resort. Guess I'll just play another small mission that I've never done before while I hopefully wait for an answer. I'm sure with all the experts on here, someone can come up with a solution.

Just finished the mission and thought I'd add a few comments here. I enjoyed it very much. The architecture was stunning in many places. The cathedral was so well done that I felt like I was actually in a cathedral. Having spent much time in cathedrals in France and Italy I was amazed at how much the feeling of those places was captured in a game.
I know that some people have commented on the weak story but frankly I don't understand that. I thought the story was a clever idea that was very well executed. It made sense and was entertaining.
The only thing that I thought could be improved upon was the gameplay really. I found it to be much too easy, especially on the highest difficulty level. I admit that ghosting it is a bit of a challenge in a few places but not too bad in most areas. And I would have enjoyed seeing a bit more interaction between team members, either through scripted events or chance encounters. I spent a bit of time just playing around and lured members of one team to encounter members of another and they paid no attention to each other. That seemed a bit odd given the premise of the mission.
The only other odd thing was that the tile floors were impossible to creep across no matter how slow you went. It was as if Garrett kept stumbling or as if his feet were partly sunk into the floor. Odd.
But overall it was a blast to play and a true delight to look at. This goes in my favorites list for sure. Thanks once again to all involved for all the hard work and dedication. It is greatly appreciated. :thumb:

With regards to the team interactions, remember that Red, Silver and Black are supposedly in an alliance. However, to be honest, I'm not sure that was specifically implemented, meaning I don't know if those teams will be friendly towards each other or not. I seem to recall luring some silvers up into the cathedral at some point during testing, and they pummeled the reds horribly because the reds refused to attack them. That's caused by the fact that the silver AI have dynamic light, which actually makes them invisible to other AI, oddly enough.
But I digress. Glad you liked the mission!

Ah, I forgot that red is allied with silver and black. I lured a silver up to the red area and they ignored each other. But I also lured some blue and gold together and they ignored each other too. Did I miss something there too? Were they in alliance? Anyway, thanks for the clarification.
