sorry bikerdude, your work, at least in this run thru of mine of SSoM, went to waste. :p
cuz i did'nt let ya say a thing! "Rowena's Curse" has honed my DB&S skills to a monofiliment edge, so "pretend you" went to the land of nod about .0001 nanoseconds after passing the dark doorway i was crouched in! :sly:
SORRY! :erg:
having a blast! :thumb:
Hammerite CTF! :cheeky:
(oh, just reread your post, you did ALL gold team? if so then i did hear your voice, in the beginning, when they were playing "whack-a-blueboy"! veddy veddy British eh wot!)

Why is black always bad? I believe that fiction's unyielding commitment to equate evil deeds with the color "black"
Quote Posted by PotatoGuy
Oh Well, The other five colors are also bad this time. :cheeky: I see your point, but here, in the world of Thief, black is most of the time good - just look at Garrett.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think it's because, in fiction, specially Films and TV, black is sexy and we all know that (ooohh)
SeX iS bAd!
also, it looks evil!(take a black cat for example! sexy and evil! muwahaha!)
but seriously, black is really NOT the color one should wear to be stealthing around in! and Garrett would know better in real life!
even the connotation of the black ninja outfit is pure Hollywood, those ancient masters of the stealhy arts wore
DEEP dark blue on a mission!
solid black, in even the tinniest bit of ambient light, leaves a more solid profile than anything naturally existing!
and guards who are correctly trained know to not focus directly ahead with the center of their vision but to concentrate on what they pick up in their periphial vision! and solid black shows up like a beacon then!
(btw, if u think i'm fulla it, take a look at my occupation!)
oops, sorry, forgot i had that post above!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
one thing i am dyin ta know:
if i make a tiny bit too much noise or am seen just a little bit by Purple Team only, why do they know it's me?
it's only Purple that say this:
"Shivan, I know it's you"!
freaks me out!
Yandros posted:
So who'll admit to being killed by the
falling chandelier?
not me, in this FM i gots me an ancestral guardian ghost or something because:
1. I went around
the pressure plate that drops it on you! I did clip the very corner of it tho, heard a sound a lot like i accidently dropped my gas mine, looked for the mine, did'nt see it of course, checked my inv, mine was still there, looked harder, looked behind me, "DAMN, was that there before?"
and there was the candelabra, on the pressure plate!2. opened the
far door to Silver Team area, heard the whoosing sound of gas, looked at my health immediately, no damage, thought "wow,
that trap was placed poorly!" (tho i WAS both crouched and a bit kitty corner to the door!
would a bit kitty corner make that kitten corner??)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Santa,
I been a good boy this year, I wanna Phasium Cloak jus like da Black team has!
Damn! Just think what Garrett could do with one of those!!!!
(those guys sure are creepy tho, the first time i heard them i jumped back in my chair, even more than when i first heard the government nano aug spec agents and MJ12 commandos in Deus Ex!)
well, finished it! even found the guys hidey hole, but i did'nt get the objective for it! (bwaaa)
i think that was cuz either i missed one secret or cuz i found clue #2 before i found clue#1!
(if so, arghhh, i hate specific order in these durn things! makes it damn hard on us natural born explorer types!)
(if i am gonna be a turkey i gotta be a free range one!!!)

Still wonder how it was possible to create such a huge building without breaking the low poly rule.
Oh boy, you have no idea how many times I built and rebuilt and placed walls to break line-of-sight until from every possible view point the player could get to, it never
quite broke the 1023 poly limit. Then Alexius would change something, and I'd have to tweak again - that went on for a while.
It may not be obvious, but a fair number of the apparent polygons are objects or clever texturing - Alexius had lots of fun ornamenting and tweaking the architecture after I handed it off to him. And then he started on textures - and lighting - changed its character completely.
And then much later, Yandros and Co did such an amazing job finishing the map. It was such a joy to play it completed after all these years.

Ah, good, I couldn't find it anywhere. Please PM me with the link if you can.
On a somewhat related note, I've been to the
REAL cathedral last weekend, the one the second mission is based on. No hammerites to be found though, just a few (un)dead kings :( I might post a few photos later in the dromed inspiration thread.
