Welcome to the forum, Eric! :)
I take it you enjoyed the 7th Crystal! :cheeky: :joke:
I'm sure Saturnine will appreciate your praise. I'm afraid you may have a long wait for a sequel, though. Saturnine announced that, due to RL concerns, he is giving up producing missions, which we were all very sad to hear. We'll just have to keep hoping that the urge to come back to Thief overwhelms everything else. A sequel would be marvellous.
I hope you enjoy the other FMs as much as this one. :)

I was so sad when I saw that post he made on TEG.
I still am. :(

Great level. This was inspiring. It makes me want to make something this entertaining. I hadn't played in a long time and withing fifteen minutes, I was totally hooked and enthralled by the beauty of the mansion and the immersiveness of Thief. I think Thief was the second game I got for the computer. It wowed me back then and I'm amazed it still wows me today. I loved the humor of that last act as well as the intrigue. Probably some of the voices and writing throughout the level could have been done a little better, but that's kind of a minor quibble. This level is practically a whole game in itself. Thief .5
It deserves gold.

What can I say? The search function works. I needed this thread to get me through the fan mission.
The people that made this level used Thief's unique story telling and atmospheric tools. You had an elaborate intro. I thought it was good, but it could have been shortened a bit. The lady reading the intro sounded a bit bored. Then you had the conversation between Garett and the lady he meets on the bridge. I've never really liked Garett's voice too much and the lady sounded a bit overtly devious. I'd have thought a more innocent sounding woman would have worked better, but the conversation gets you interested in what's going on and the scenery definitely got me interested. They used the ghostly voices in the level. This is a great effect, chilling and thought provoking, even though I thought the voice was a bit too fragmented and clipped. It still drew me in. So as you go about your business stealing, exploring and knocking people out, you have questions in your mind about who is this ghostly voice? What is it saying? Why? You've also got other things on your mind like the lady on the bridge and the goals she's set for you. It all serves to pull you into the story, something that doesn't happen to me much in games. I think it will be even better the second time I play through when I have more time to pay attention to what's going on.

I can't believe I just called myself a noob. I'm an expert thief for chrisake.
<cough>
Ok, bit of confusion on my part about the 7th crystal series = Where can I get hold of all the acts, and what are their names? I seem to be only able to get hold of act 4, and I'd rather play them all in sequence.
Help please?
Norman Druart on 17/7/2002 at 20:40
Act 4 only? The 7th Crystal was released in an all-inclusive package and if you d-loaded the 25.7 meg file, then you have all of it already. It's available at both the Keep and the Cheap Thief Mission Download sites.

Badgerslayer:
your confusion is understandable as Darkloader shows it as act4, but NormanD is absolutely correct, what you will have is the full thing.

Act 1: The meeting on the bridge (non-interactive)
Act 2: The main mission, taking place at the Saturnine mansion
Act 3: The catacombs below the mansion
Act 4: The end sequence (non-interactive)
