I uninstalled the mission and installed it again, and this time when it got to that point it went on, to the river scene and the woman standing there - well, I float over near here, then, again, I'm just stuck there and can't move but can only look around and nothing ever happens. I've tried this several times and the same thing - stuck there at the bridge with no action and no choice to move on!

I really thought I'd fixed that, the problem as far as I can see is that boundstriggers don't seem to be all that reliable,
when you get within a few feet of the bridge it triggers Garrett to walk into the scene and because that is the first step in the conversation, the rest can't happen until he arrives
I guess a room brush trigger might have been better, same goes for the doorway in the crypt: that doorway's room brush could trigger the teleport to the bridge.

re: saturnine
so what would u recommend is the best way to play the level and not get that error... i am about to play it this weekend
is there a way to guarantee avoid the glitch, such as make sure i go toward the bridge froma a certain direction, or enter the crypt only through a certain path and not error?
Saturnine on 9/11/2001 at 17:20
It seems to be random, Its not exactly my fault, I never knew boundstriggers were dodgy
I'll be making a fixed version and I'll get it uploaded everywhere that already has it as soon as possible, so look out for T7Cv1.01
I'm sorry guys, I really thought I'd got all the bugs
Keeper of Metal and Gold on 9/11/2001 at 17:32
I got past the bug just be trying over a few times - indeed it seems to be random.
Saturnine, this is truly excellent work - I'm glad you DIDN'T quit even back when you were feeling desparate and it wouldn't work!
Perhaps you could just fix it with a patch, for those of us who already downloaded the 24meg, and then of course put out a full fixed version for everyone who doesn't have the mission at all yet. BTW, your info .txt file says the release date is "when it's done" or something like that - you might put November 7 or something

Yup, same exact thing for me. I quit Thief, restarted it again and went through the intro again (don't worry, it was well worth it :)) and the second time everything went smoothly. I was playing on Expert. I'll mention that I was pressing the movement keys, clicking my mouse, checking my inventory, etc., the first time (just out of curiosity) but the second time I didn't touch anything except to move my mouse so I kept facing forward.
I was really impressed with the fade-in, since I'd thought about such things but could never figure out a reasonable way to do it. It was very smooth and seamless. You seem to have the ambient light set quite low. Is this true? If it is, did you do it to support the fade-in? I notice that the shadows seem much more dark and dramatic than any other FM I can remember, but you're never in pitch dark areas or rooms where you can't see anything.

Excellent FM! I have never seen such awe-inspiring lighting, not even in an OM.
I think the first time through the stairway with the stained-glass window I must have stood there for at least five minutes just looking around and appreciating the extremely realistic ambient lighting.
I have so far only managed to get killed many times on the second floor, but this weekend I plan to wade through the entire mission, including every nook and cranny I can find(something I have never done in an FM).
Truely a work of art!

<twocents>Saturnine, Excelent Level. On par with anything out there including the original Levels. I did encounter the stuck on cam-vator issue but an escape: main menu: restart fixed it. Only glitch so far is in Act Two I got stuck on the outside wall near the gate, and a game crash frobing the lever (you know which one... heh that was a good one btw) but that only occured once. Thank you to all involved for making this level. </twocents>
BTW: can I use your bathroom objects? they were so much better than the usual hole in the solid wood brush. My GF says you need to make a liftable seat though.

Saturnine, truly a masterpiece of art. however for the first time since GAT came out i am having a small problem with a FM.
I can select books, scrolls two or three times and read them.
However, there is a lot of clicking going on with my monitor when it
goes back to the game. After the third book or scroll, etc
the textures in the game are completely messed up.
perhaps you could look into that as you are preparing a patch?
thanks again for a great FM.
