well...well...well...
I had to reinstall it but then no more of these texture problems happened.
I believe that everyone involved in this mission deserves three thumbs up!
Stunningly beautiful all around and storywise -well, it is up there with the best.

I finished it. What an amazing mission. I figured out what I did wrong too:
Spoiler:
I didn't find the note and money first thing like the objective said. I knew from restarting the mission briefly so I could read the FULL objective description that I had to go to the East Courtyard (maybe add East Courtyard to the brief objective description too). The first time there I read the guest book, listened to Garrett's comment, I knew there had been a kidnapping, so I thought that Seraphina wouldn't be able to show up. I think the hiding place of the note and money was pretty tricky, but fair. Maybe Garrett should mutter something about needing to look around a bit, like he did in the attic room. I always figure if Garrett mutters a clue then any hiding place is fair game, no matter how tricky. Also, I would know for sure that I really was in the East Courtyard (I don't have a map yet). From other comments I've read I guess Seraphina makes this pretty clear on the bridge scene. Unfortunately it was hard for me to hear so I missed that. I actually made it all the way into the tomb in the library! I had to blow up two doors to do it though. Such a tiny, small thing that caused me to get so confused!

Who did the voice acting of the woman in the conversation you hear through the grate? The other voices were okay, but that performance was outstanding. Timid, understated, perfect tone and phrasing. VERY impressive. LGS should have used her in their original games!

/me blushes thoroughly.*
I did the voices of Seraphina, Elizabeth, and the female j. m. in the endscene. Elizabeth's my favorite performance, too; I was most proud of that one in the end when I heard it in-game. Thank you so much; that makes me feel great!

Bruny, that was Wynne, the absolute best female voice talent we have in the Thief community!!! Her work in this mission is her best yet (I believe) and actually moved me!

Oh, KoMaG, thank you! I think if this keeps up, my head will explode!

I just finished T7C, and I must say that this is the best mission I've ever played, possibly even better than the OMs. The lighting and architecture were amazing, and the story was awesome. I certainly hope there will be a follow-up showing how Garrett gets out and gets his revenge

Spoiler:
I wound up feeling sorry for the lord and lady of the house, and for stealing the potential treasure that Bradey would use to get out of there and marry Liz. The nursery was very sad, but brought the story together nicely.

The only 'bug' (if it is one) that I noticed was that the door accross from the sentry post disapeared when the guard opened it. Oh, and the briefing didn't play (the B17.avi one, the in game stuff was perfect). And yes I downloaded the FM with the briefing and it was in the movies directory
I would recommend this mission to anyone...
two thumbs up!

Cheers,
Vaul
FYI: for those that don't know how to make the 'hidden' spoiler text... when you write your message there is a Spoiler button below the editing window, click it. If you don't have Java script enabled it probably wont work, so just put the word "SPOILER" in brackets[] before your text and "/SPOILER" in brackets[] after it.

O.....M......F....G
jesus christ this mission is beautiful.... it literally makes me feel tingly inside
i havent finished it or even got too far because i was so stupified by the intro and initial coolness. i watched intro 3 times, i didnt know u could do so much
it is definitely more scripted/tweaked, and creates as good an atmosphere as ANY O.M., or F.M.
i think we have a gold hammer candidate
i like that it has a bit of everything for all types of fans.... the haunting component, its a loot-grab-mission type at times, also mansion/casing type, information searching, unknown events, etc.
great architecture, great props, great acting (wynn+loanstar u ROCK), great story , great ambience, GREAT GREAT GREAT!

Wow, this is truely an amazing mission. The architecture, texturing and lightly are bind-bogglingly good. Every room, every hallway, every outdoor area is so well done, you just stand there in awe of it. I took many screenshots during my play of this mission.
As long as you're going to patch the mission to fix that intro bug some people are experiencing, you might as well kill two birds with one stone and fix the sound-propagation mistakes that seem a little too common throughout the level.
MsLedd on 11/11/2001 at 09:59
FYI folks, our dear Saturnine has put together a patch that addresses the major issues that people have been experiencing. Garrett MIA on the bridge, attic location noted on the map and others... But you taffers won't be blowing up any more doors and screwing up the order of things for yourselves anymore, this is a good thing, trust me.
The patch file, and the full patched mission are available here http://thief1.math.uh.edu/thief/missions/
Go get it NOW!!
