Having barely made it through on hard, I was amazed to find myself heading for the party on expert. Somehow there was always just enough equipment and darkness to get me through. Very nice. Makes me feel accomplished.

I can't seem to be able this game as well... I have the game patched, I've got all the scripts installen en the gen.osm and convict.osm... but no matter what the game will not move on. :nono:

Have you restarted the mission?
If you've got several separate installations of Thief (e.g. one for FMs one for DromEd, etc.) make sure you put the files into the one for your FMs.
Otherwise I've got no clue what might cause this.
I could include a button in the small cubic room at the start of the mission to force the teleport when the player wants that, but this would probably just move the problem to somewhere else in the mission.
Any other ideas, anyone?

only got 1 installation and never had any problems before with scripts...

Fun little mission! Only had trouble find the
switch.
Have to love those little things. :p
Played on hard, had almost all the loot. LOVED the rat.
Very creative, fun to play. :) I do wish at the wedding party, the book could of been translated.

Thanks for your comment, BrokenArts :)
The book contains a lot of poems. This would have been hell of a lot of work to translate accurately. But it's just a guestbook. And like any other guestbook, you can't expect the entries to be in English only ;)

"Beware! Biting Predator!
Do not stroke! Do not provoke!
Do not pour alcoholic drinks into cage!"
Maybe I have a weird sense of humour, but after
opening the rat cage to knock out the villains in the room
and then reading that note, I laughed like crazy.

If you really want to have fun with that rat, let it run out of the house. Then, get the robot to chase it. To accomplish the latter, turn off the lights in the house by using the switch in the cellar. Pick up several of the glowing mushrooms outside to have some dark place to hide in. Now, enter the dining room and gain Marvin's (the robot) attention. Once he follows you, lead him out of the house and a bit away from the entrance, then hide in the dark and move away. When he looses you, watch until the rat comes along, circling the house. The fun can then commence...
Take care, you might wet your trousers while watching the two. :cheeky:
Someone once described the Burricks in Thief as animals "farting in the wrong direction", but this white rat surpasses them - farting a whole floor unconscious in a few minutes, and then it's just such a smelly, erm, small rat compared to those big Burricks...
The only disadvantage of the white rat on the loose is that it may fart Robert unconscious as well, and if that happens, the mission fails immediately. So, if the rat is in orbit around the castle, save the game before waking up Robert just in case of bad timing.
Mission authors, thanks for this one! It has been interesting and funny at the same time.

I'm glad you like it.
Note, that the rat doesn't leave the castle on Hard or Expert difficulty. To experience the fun you described, one has to play on Normal difficulty. ;)

Your sense of humour is perfectly normal, that's just the way it was meant to make people react... :cheeky:
